Abstract:
Giving back to the community is not a concept the Wheat State Agronomy Club takes lightly. Each year, club members donate time, talent, and treasury to a number of worthy causes. This generosity is just one small way of thanking the very
supportive local community. Projects undertaken range from spring clean up to sponsoring student events to making monetary contributions. Throughout the school year, club members support fellow K-Staters by sponsoring activities during Ag Fest and Open House. During the holidays, the Wheat State Agronomy Club makes the largest cash donation to the Flinthills Breadbasket and supports the Samaritan’s Purse; while students take the time to shop for gifts for a needy family. The club serves an appreciation breakfast for current faculty and participates in spring clean up of yards of Emeritus faculty. Wheat State Agronomy Club members feel it is important to take the time, as we've got wheat it takes!
