FAQs:
Who will be the participants?
We are hoping to invite students between the ages of 15 – 17 years old. If you would like to involve younger/older students, do contact the organisers.
What is E-Human Library?
E-Human Library draws inspiration from how one learns from reading books in the library. It consists of sharing sessions by multiple “human books”. These “books” will be leaders in various fields from different parts of the world, specially selected to share on this theme.
Each session will be facilitated by a student leader from Temasek JC to help increase the engagement, especially during the Q&A segment.
How will the participants be involved in the E-Human Library?
Participants will get to hear from 2 “books” and the selection will be done prior to the event.
We will be sharing a synopsis of each “book” and this will aid the participants in their selection. Selection will have to be done prior to the event to facilitate the organisation of the e-Human Library.
Apart from listening to the sharing, there will be also be ample time allocated for interaction between the participants and the “book” within each session. We aim to keep the number of participants for each session small so as to deepen the interaction between the “book” and the participants.
What will the Student Leaders’ Breakout Discussions be like?
Participants will be strongly encouraged to reflect on their learnings from the Keynote Address and the E-Human Library on 5 Dec. They should also reflect upon their insights from the pre-conference readings found in their e-toolkit.
They will then bring these learning points to the discussion on 7 Dec. By having a good mix of participants from different schools, different countries and different E-Human Library sessions, we will be able to achieve a robust and meaningful exchange of ideas and insights into leadership and how these can be applied to their roles as student leaders. Likewise, we aim to keep the numbers for each session small so as to promote lively discussion among the participants.
What is in this e-toolkit?
All participants will receive an e-toolkit which will contain the following information:
1) Profile of Keynote Speaker
2) Synopsis of each E-Human Library “book”
3) Pre-conference readings for students
4) A list of guiding questions to help facilitate reflection and learning 5) Link to an online Feedback Form
6) Programme booklet (schedule + list of participating schools)
7) Consent for utilisation of media (images/videos) in our publicity materials
