Cause: Hong Kong was once ruled by Britain.
Effect: Hong Kong food is heavily influenced by western cuisine.
Hong Kong Is
Gourmet Paradise
You think of pizzas when someone talks about Italian food. You think of sushi when someone talks about Japanese food. You think of fish and chips when someone talks about British food. But, what do you think of when someone talks about Hong Kong food?
Hong Kong food is based on traditional Chinese cuisine, and closely related to Cantonese cuisine. However, Hong Kong food is also heavily influenced by western cuisine because the city was once ruled by Britain. All these different cuisines have given Hong Kong a very special style of its own. And with it, Hong Kong has been named Gourmet Paradise.
But, what is an example of Hong Kong food? Here are three of Hong Kong’s finest pastries.
Pineapple bun is the best example of Hong Kong style pastry. The sweet top is the most mouth-watering part of this bun.
Egg tart shows how the East meets West. The soft shell is very western; yet, the sweet egg filling is very Chinese.
Egg Waffle is one of the people’s favourite snacks. It is famous for its crispy shell and the soft inside.

The Magical Forest
reviewed by Sam Gantz The Magical Forest is a fantasy novel. There are many strange creatures which appear throughout the book. It starts with the fighting between different groups of human-like Drogs because their land is in danger. Due to the changing climate there are fewer places to live so they are at war. Then a superhero Yurgeen comes, a cross between a huge bear and a dragon. He leadsthem to safety after facing many challenges and problems caused by their nemesis, the evil Mollocks. When Yurgeen and the Drogs arrive to the promised land, they are all delighted because it is a warm and fertile land. However, the
Mollocks are right behind their tails and the two groups begin to fight. The battle ends with the
Drogs as victors and the story ends with them celebrating with a big banquet.
This story is very dull and boring. The characters are uninteresting. Moreover, the plot is not logical, the climax is not thrilling, and the ending is very predictable. So even if you like fantasy novels, I will definitely not recommend this book to you.
