12/4/2011: The General Secretariat held an honoring ceremony at Zayed University for Girls in Abu Dhabi on the honor of the approved news agencies.
14/4/2011: The Award participated in the Cultural Convoys Campaign (our society is a trust) held in the Emirate of Fujairah.
15/5/2011: The General Secretariat of the Award obtained a Letter of Accreditation, the ISBN is 978-9948-15-987-2 for the winning writers of the Award in its three sessions (2009-2-10-2011) by the Ministry of Culture & Youth. 20/5/2011:
The General Secretariat of the Khalifa International Date Palm Award published a book about the winners of the Award within its last three sessions (2009 – 2010 – 2011). The book gives researchers and specialists the chance of having an idea about the content of the winning and distinguished researches aiming to circulate the benefit and nationalize the scientific knowledge in the field of date palm. 25/5/2011: The General Secretariat
of the Award obtained the Accreditation Letter of the ISBM (9948-16-079-3978) of the Yearly Book of the Award in its third session 2011 by the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Community Development.
1/6/2011: The General Secretariat of the Award in cooperation with Seventh Dimension Company in Dubai designed an advertisement campaign to launch the Award in its fourth session through electronic marketing on the internet.
1/6/2011: Issuing the second Issue of the Third Volume of the Blessed Tree Magazine.
1/6/2011: Issuing the Third Yearly Book which documents all the activities and events achieved by the Secretariat General of the Award in its third session 2011.
1/6/2011: Designing and publishing a number of commercial advertisements in local newspapers in the UAE which are related to the launching of the fourth session of the Award by stages and inviting
farmers, researchers, interested people, producers and lovers of the date palm tree to participate within the Award categories.
1/6/2011: Designing and printing a number of advertising materials, brochures and gifts within the framework of launching the fourth session 2011.
26/6/2011: An introductory presentation of the Award was implemented within the program of the Seventh International Conference of Scientific Journalists in the Qatari capital, Doha, during the period 26- 30 June 2011.
7/7/2011: The third session was launched and the registration of participating in the International Photography Competition was opened (The Palm Tree in the Eyes of the World).
12/7/2011: The Award participated in Liwa Seventh Festival of Ripped Dates during the period 12- 21/7/2011.
27/7/2011 The Award participated in Liwa – Ajman Festival of Ripped Dates during the period between 27-29 July /2011.
15/8/2011: The Award obtained a letter of renewing the license of the Blessed Tree Magazine issued by the National Council of Information in its capacity as a periodical scientific magazine (issued once every three month) specialized in date palm under No. 1245 of 15/8/2011 till 14/8/2012.
1/9/2011: Issuing the Third Issue of the Third Volume of the Blessed Tree Magazine.
15/9/2011: The Award participated in (The Palm Tree Day) held at Al Hayer District in Al Ain. 10/10/2011: The Award participated in the Awareness Program of Date Palm Trees and Dates held at Sheikha Amna Religious and Heritage Center for Ladies in Al Ain.
18/10/ 2011: Launching the national Campaign for introducing the Award at the level of the UAE in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Center for Farmer Services, where the first meeting with the date palm farmers was held on the 18th of October 2011, and the second meeting was held in the western Region (Liwa) on the 20th of October 2011 in Liwa. The campaign resulted in achieving an increase reaching
68% in the number of national candidates.
31/10/2011: Announcing the closing date of receiving candidate applications for the Award 4th session. The number of applicants reached to 194 participants representing 25 countries from all parts of the world.
1/11/2011: A commercial Announcement was published in Al Etihad daily about the continuation of receiving applications of the competition of “The Palm Tree in the Eyes o the World” in its third version.
1/11/2011: Classifying and evaluating the applications that meet the requirements of the competition as a step forward to announce the total number of the participants in the categories of the Award in its fourth session.
10/11/2011: Participating in the works of the 2nd International Forum of Dates in the Kingdom of Morocco during the period betwee 10-13 November 2011. The Award was honored by the visit made by His Majesty King Mohammad the VI to the Emirates pavilion and he hailed the deep relationships between the two countries in the area of date palm trees and dates production.
13/11/2011: Participating in a scientific research paper in the International Conference of Date Palm Researches in Algeria, the capital, during the period 13- 14 November 2011 within the framework of the introductory Campaign of the Award at the Arab level.
16/11/2011: Announcing the closing date of accepting candidate applications of the Award in its fourth session along with the total number of participants in the Award categories. 21/11/2011: The Award participated in the Emirates Festival of Date Palm & Dates in Abu Dhabi during the period between 21-26 November 2011.
25/11/2011: The General Secretariat received a letter of thanks & appreciation from His Majesty King Mohammad the VI of Morocco in return for the dedication of a collection of the issues of the Blessed Tree Magazine issued by the General Secretariat of the Award.

11/12/2011: The General Secretariat published a book entitled “Palm Leaves Architecture” in English. The book is considered the first scientific book to go deep in the palm leaves architecture Moreover.. it documents the use of man of the palm leaves in building the traditional house in the pre-oil period. The book was edited by the researcher Sandra Basic.
15/12/2011: Dr. HE. Dr. Jack Diouf member of the Board of Trustees of Khalifa International Date Palm Award was honored.
20/12/2011: The General Secretariat coined a silver specie of (50 AED) bearing the logo of the Award and the photo of HH. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE on, the sponsor of the Award on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Award foundation. The specie was coined in cooperation with the Central Bank of the UAE.
15/1/2012: Issuing the third volume of the Blessed Tree Magazine which includes four successive issues. The magazine is considered the first scientific magazine specializes in date palm in the Arab Region which proved its success and contributed in enhancing specialized scientific journalism in the UAE. 1/3/2012: Issuing the first issue of the Fourth Volume of the Blessed Tree Magazine.
4/3/2012: The Award General Secretariat participated in the UAE celebrations of the 32nd Forestation Week under the logo
“ Together to tree-plant the Emirates “ during the period 4-8 March 2012 at Sheikh Khalifa`s Recreation Ground in Abu Dhabi.
10/3/2012: The Award General Secretariat issued a luxurious book which documents all the distinguished and winner photos in the International Photography Competition “The Palm Tree in the Eyes of the World” during the last three sessions (2010- 2011-2012).
11/3/2012: The Award General Secretariat hosted four Arab journalists to cover the ceremony of honoring the winners in the fourth session aiming to cover the news of the Award in all the media at the Arab level.
11/3/2012: Honoring celebration of the
winners of the Award categories and the influential VIPS in the area of date palm trees cultivation and date production.
11/3/2012: The fifth periodical meeting of the members of the Board of Trustees of the Award chaired by HH. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayn, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Chairman of the Award Board of Trustees.
12/3/2012: An Artistic tour to the members of the Arab and local Media delegation where they were introduced to the Lab of Tissues Culture in the Studies and date palm development Unit of the UAEU. They were further introduced to a number of services which are provided by the General Secretariat of Khalifa International Date Palm Award to researchers, producers and lovers of the blessed tree in the UAE.
Moreover, the delegation visited the Palm Tree Friends Society where they were acquainted with the services provided to farmers and date producers in the UAE by the Society in addition to the introduction of the achievements of the Society at the local level. Then the delegation paid a visit to Date Factory at Al Sad of Al Foah Company where they were introduced to the mechanisms of the factory work, its production line of excellent dates and types of dates produced and the pioneering position achieved by the factory at the international and local levels.
With the end of the activities of the Award fourth session, the Media committee of the Award under the supervision of the General Secretariat prepared and published a great number of news (in Arabic & English) which was associated with the activities and events of the Award during its fourth session 2011 in various local and international newspapers and on the internet specialized websites. Such as action had positive effects on introducing the Award activities and encouraged interested people to participate in the categories of the Award. This led to increasing the number of national participants reaching to 68% of the total number of participants, whereas the increase reached to 32% of the number of candidates from all parts of the world.
However, the total number of candidates was 194 representing 25 countries world wide.
