The Effectivenes 0f A counseling program to improve the Psychological Resilience Among Special Education Teachers

Abstract: The current study aimed to prepare a counseling program and to investigate its effectiveness in improving the Psychological Resilience for Special Education Teachers. Participants of this study were (16) Special Education Teachers, aged 25-35 years and were divided into two homogeneous groups; one experimental (8 teachers) and a control group (8 teachers). The study was based on the quasi- experimental design. The researcher used the Psychological Resilience scale for Special Education Teachers, beside the counseling program for improving the Psychological Resilience, continued for nine weeks, in 30 sessions. The statistical methods were Man-Whitney (U) test, Wilcoxon (w) test and (Z) values, used to verify the results. Findings of the study revealed the effectiveness of the counseling program in improving the Psychological Resilience for the Special Education Teachers. There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre and the post measurements of the Psychological Resilience in favor of the post measurement.

There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and the control groups in the Psychological Resilience in favor of the experimental group. Besides, there were no statistically significant differences between the experimental group in the post measurement and the follow-up measurement.
