Meeting new students is an opportunity to enhance communication

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University organized an ori- entation meeting for the new students who joined Al Ain University by the beginning of the academic year 2022-2023 at both campuses, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, emphasized the academic advis- ing role for new students. Also, he encouraged the students to reach out for the academic and administrative staff who are available to help, support, and provide all the services to create a positive univer- sity atmosphere.

The orientation meeting at Al Ain was attended by Prof. Ibtehal Abu- rezeq Vice President of Development and Follow Up and the Dean of Student Affairs, who encouraged students to participate in extracur- ricular activities during their academic journey to create a recreational atmosphere beside their studies, stressing that the Deanship of Stu- dent Affairs is fully prepared to meet all the students' mental, physical and emotional needs. The meeting was also attended by the college Deans who introduced themselves to the students, stressing their keenness to help the students, solve their academic problems and pro- vide them with advice and guidance.

Students’ innovations on the International Programmers Day Al Ain University hosts the Director General of the National Search

"and Rescue Center to talk about "Leadership and Decision Making

The College of Engineering, Abu Dhabi Campus, celebrated International Programmers Day by organizing an event entitled

"Happy Programmers Day", under the supervision of Eng. Esra Al- Nashash. During the event, students' outstanding software projects were presented, in addition to interactive presentations filled with interesting and useful information.

Program directors, faculty members, and students from different majors attended and participated in the competitions, and the winners received valuable prizes. This event aimed to introduce students to modern software skills and techniques and some of the most critical applications such as programming robots, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence.

The Deanship of Student Affairs (Abu Dhabi Campus), in cooperation with the National Search and Rescue Center, organized a session entitled "Leadership and Decision Making" presented by HE Dr.

Stephen Arthur Toumajan - Director of the Center. He talked about the importance of leadership, how to make appropriate decisions in daily life, and what principles a person should consider for the process of self-development and decision-making.

The Innovation Center enhances the role of Emirati women Opportunities for AAU Students with the Department of

Culture and Tourism

In order with the center's vision and achieving its strategic objectives, the Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Small Business Development Center at Al Ain University implemented an event on the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, during which it hosted a group of Emirati

women entrepreneurs. Ms. Roya Al Junaibi, Takamul Program Officer from the Department of Economic Development, presented a workshop on the support provided by Takamul program to innovators and entrepreneurs in the field of intellectual property.

The Deanship of Student Affairs at the University (Abu Dhabi Campus), in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, organized a meeting with Al Ain University students. The meeting included a detailed explanation given by Ms. Camelia Issa Muslim - Senior Awareness Specialist - Education and Awareness Department, about the role of the Department of Culture and Tourism in preserving the Emirati heritage and promoting tourist places in Abu Dhabi.

The College of Pharmacy welcomes its new students at the beginning of the academic year 2022-2023 Al Ain University launches a humanitarian initiative

"under the slogan "We are with you

The freshmen students from the College of Pharmacy started their academic year 2022-2023 by attending the welcoming meeting that was organized by the College of Pharmacy in both campuses Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, they discussed the most important topics that the student should be aware about while studying pharmacy at Al Ain University.

In this meeting, freshmen students got to know about the course registration, the curriculum, the course description and the credit hours of the bachelor of pharmacy program, which amounted to 160 credit hours. The students also got to know about their rights and responsibilities, and the importance of academic guidance.

The meeting also focused on two aspects, the first one was the academic fraud and penalties, and the second one was about the importance of using the electronic courses which are available through the university's website.

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University - Abu Dhabi Campus - launched a humanitarian initiative under the slogan "We are with you", Where they visited the children who have cancer and they get treated at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City.

Strengthening the research methodology in the library for students

Workshop entitled "Design your first mobile application"

A lecture by Mr. Muahid Abashar, the Acting Library Supervisor, was held to introduce the students to the library materials in Abu Dhabi campus. This activity represents an effort toward the library’s mission to provide resources of knowledge, information, services, and tools that support the process of learning, teaching, and scientific research at the university and to introduce the rules of the digital library. The audience was 40 students.

On International Programmers Day, the Deanship of Student Affairs, in cooperation with the College of Engineering (Abu Dhabi Campus), organized a workshop entitled "Design Your First Mobile Application"

under the supervision of Dr. Nuha Hamadeh, and presented by Dr.

Tariq Al-Amsi, Assistant Professor at the College of Engineering.

The workshop was held in an engineering lab equipped with an integrated development environment with Android Studio that simulates the appearance of an application on a mobile phone. The workshop aimed to promote programming, which has become highly demanded in the global labor market, by helping the attendees acquire the skill of programming their first mobile application.

AAU Library Welcomes New Faculty Members and Students An event to raise awareness of “Ifhas” Program

Through a series of orientations, the AAU library in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi campuses welcomed the new faculty members and students.

The orientations focused on the library's vision, mission, objectives, and policies. In addition, the librarians briefed the visitors about digital resources and services such as online catalogues, digital repositories, and online databases for electronic Books and electronic journals. Each orientation session ended with a tour of the library.

The Deanship of Student Affairs (Abu Dhabi Campus) organized an event to raise awareness about “Ifhas” program, which was launched by the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health, in cooperation with Mediclinic Hospital - Airport Street.

"Ifhas" is one of the strategic programs of the Abu Dhabi government, and it is the outcome of the leadership's efforts to maintain the health and well-being of community members, and provide the best practices related to preventive health.

Healthy event on the occasion of the World Heart Day

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University, Al Ain campus, in collaboration with Burjeel Royal hospital, launched a health initiative entitled “Be a Heart for every Heart” on the occasion of the World Heart Day.

The initiative included free medical tests on checkups such as body mass index, pressure, cholesterol and sugar, where the aim of this initiative is to enhance students' and family's knowledge of precautions to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

AAU Library Strengthens Collaborations with IEEE

Mr. Ranbir S. Sedhey the IEEE Client Services Manager and Mr. Ahmad Al Hasan the Account Manager from Naseej visited the Khalifa library at Al Ain University, where Dr. Abdoulaye Kaba, Library Director, received them.

During the meeting, Mr. Ranbir gave an important presentation about the IEEE Xplore digital library. He discussed how access to journal articles, conference proceedings, technical standards, and related materials in computer science, electrical engineering and electronics, and allied fields.

A blood donation campaign in cooperation with the Blood Bank

In cooperation with Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Services- SEHA, The Deanship of Student Affairs, at Al Ain and Abu Dhabi campuses organized a blood donation campaign with the participation of academic and administrative staff and AAU students.

Al Ain University is keen to organize a blood donation campaign periodically in cooperation with the services of the Abu Dhabi Blood Bank - SEHA as part of its keenness to enhance the university’s responsibility towards the local community, and encourage volunteer and charitable work.
