Experience

Demonstrator in King Abdul Aziz University (KAU), Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences - Department of Medical Technology, Diagnostic Parasitology (2011).

Working in Microbiology laboratory as technologist at King Abdulaziz University Hospital since (November 2008 – May 2011).

Trainee in MDX laboratory at King Abdulaziz University Hospital (October 2008).

Internship training; Clinical laboratories attachment rotations in the laboratory departments of King Abdulaziz University Hospital (August 2007- August 2008).

 Microbiology Laboratory: I have been there for 6 months to master the advanced techniques and instruments that are used at KAUH in identifying microorganisms such as VITEK 2, BACTEC and BACT/ALERT systems.

Also, I carried out many tests and procedures using different test protocols and instruments.

 Blood bank and transfusion services laboratory.

 Bio safety level 3 and Virology laboratory.

Summer trainee in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, Jeddah, KSA (June2006 – July2006).

My training program included a clinical rotation in the department's section, the latest available techniques and instruments in the following areas were performed:

 Clinical chemistry, Immunology, microbiology, blood bank, Hematology, flow Cytometry and IVF laboratories.

 Blood bank (donor services/ transfusion services): I was exposed to plasma aphaeresis machine while managing with supervision to help in plasma exchange procedure, done to a multiple sclerosis patients.

 Flow Cytometry laboratory (FCSCAN).

Teaching in privet children summer school (2004).

Teaching voluntarily in the disable children association (2001-2003).

Research experience

Development of a diagnostic tool for Toxoplasma gondii for use on naturally infected host tissue based on the loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) technique (May 2013).

MRSA spread in KAUH, Infection Control Department at KAUH, Jeddah, KSA (October 2006).

Graduation Project was on Platelets and T cell profiles in Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) patients using a flow Cytometry Technique (2003).
