Program Context

Yes No If yes, what has been done to ensure that these courses meet the needs of students on the other programmes. The learning outcomes of the courses offered for other educations are mapped with the respective education results, thereby ensuring that the needs of the other educations are met. Most of the courses offered for other programs are basic programming, algorithm, data structure and operating systems which are universal.

The computer science courses offered by other programs are informed (Department of Information System, College of Science, College of Linguistics, College of Islamic Studies) to prepare the course specification according to Computer Science learning outcomes.

Program Description: List of core and elective program courses offered each semester from Preparatory Year to Graduation using the Curriculum Study Plan Table below (a separate table is required for each branch IF the given branch offers a different study plan). A program or department handbook should be available to students or other interested parties, and a copy of information related to that program should be attached to the program specification.

The computer science study plan has been prepared on the basis of the guidelines in the University Academic Program Development Guidebook, which fulfills the requirement for National Qualification Frame work for undergraduate courses, skills and graduate requirements.

Learning Resources, Facilities and Equipment

If students are not satisfied with any action taken against his complaint, they can register and complain to student rights commission with supporting documents. If there is a need for a new edition of the textbook or manual, he can make a request to the head of the department in the specified Performa. At the beginning of each academic year, subject holders are informed to submit a list of necessary textbooks and manuals to the head of department.

The requirements are reviewed by the Curriculum Committee and the approved list is submitted to the dean through the head of department.

  • Program Evaluation and Improvement Processes

Individual applications, regardless of the way they arrive at the department, are also processed by the faculty committee and leading faculty members under the direction of the head of department. All the institute's activities are initially discussed internally and proposals are forwarded to the institute council for further consideration and appropriate decisions. COURSE SPECIFICATIONS (CS)

Introduction to Computing (111--CCS-3)

Course Specifications

  • Course Description (Note: General description in the form used in Bulletin or handbook)
    • Introduction
  • Student Academic Counseling and Support
  • Facilities Required
  • Course Evaluation and Improvement Processes

Indicate course requirements including size of classrooms and laboratories (eg number of seats in classrooms and laboratories, extent of computer access, etc.). Samples of student work in the course are attached to the course files to check the standard of grades and achievement. Feedback from the evaluations will be used to plan further improvements in the course syllabus, teaching method and delivery of course materials.

The course coordinators are given the primary task of administering a self-evaluation of the program every two years and evaluating the results of this evaluation, the employers' surveys and input from the exit interviews with the graduating students. .

Introduction to Programming (121--CCS-3)

This course introduces the Java programming language and helps students develop basic problem-solving skills. Topics include basic programming, iteration statements, nested loops, methods, passing arguments to a method, method overloading, method abstraction, using methods in math class, arrays, common array operations, methods with array arguments and return value, search and sort operations on array. Course learning outcomes in NQF domains of learning and alignment with assessment methods and teaching strategy.

In the table below there are five NOK learning areas, numbered in the left column. First, insert the relevant and measurable course learning outcomes required in the relevant learning domains (see suggestions below the table). Second, insert supportive teaching strategies that are appropriate and aligned with assessment methods and intended learning outcomes.

Each subject's learning outcomes, assessment method and teaching strategy should fit together reasonably and flow together as an integrated learning and teaching process. Assessment task (ie essay, test, quizzes, group project, . exam, speech, oral presentation, etc.) Week Correct proportion of total grade. Lectures according to the teacher's schedule The schedule is determined by the students, and students are encouraged to consult the teacher in case of any problems related to the lectures.

In the college of computer and information sciences, regular seminars are organized in which every member of the faculty must participate. Group checking technique is followed to have a uniform standard of checking student answer scripts.

T6. COURSE SPECIFICATIONS (CS)

Course Identification and General Information

The objective of this course is to understand the concepts, principles and techniques related to Java programming. Inheritance, exception handling and file handling are the important programming concepts taken away from this course. This course is intended to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of various object-oriented design techniques and develop object-oriented applications specifically in Java.

In this Java programming course, it is designed to provide extensive hands-on experience in writing, compiling, and executing Java programs. The purpose of this course is to give the students a comprehensive introduction to computer data structures and algorithms in connection with object-oriented programming. The students after completing this course are equipped with the necessary knowledge to carry out the above work ie. design, implementation, testing or maintenance of virtually any software system.

This course also introduces the concept of logical design and other basic building blocks used in digital systems, especially digital computers. This course is designed to familiarize students with concepts of computer architecture and functionality. This course is designed to provide students with an overview of the principles of image processing.

This course teaches students to develop a game based on the capabilities of computer technology and the needs of human factors. This course creates the ability to solve OR problems, which is essential for both researchers and practitioners. The goal of this course is to enable students to formulate, analyze, and solve mathematical models that represent real-world problems.

This course helps to build understanding of the underlying principles and equip future academics with the basic skills to create computer programs for small-scale use.

Principles of Software Engineering

Learning Resources 1. List Required Textbooks

All lecture notes and PowerPoint slides of the lectures are available to students on the Blackboard system. Students are asked for an overall assessment of the course on a 5-point scale (student assessment). Students are also encouraged to write their own comments about the instructor's overall handling of the course.

Classroom focus group interviews are conducted periodically to gain access to the strengths and weaknesses of the course and learning activities. Based on this report, the head of the department suggests the necessary steps to be taken to improve the program in the following years. Course instructors meet periodically to discuss improvements that can be made to course delivery.

After careful analysis of all feedback, the dean's office for quality and academic development sends its proposals and recommendations to the institute's quality committee. The head of department reviews overall course deficiencies based on the student's evaluation, faculty input, course index and program assessment. Course coordinators will propose the recommended actions to the department chair to improve the program.

Office hours (10 hours/week) of the faculty handling the course are indicated in the timetable and displayed on the notice board. Review of the course in the following semester through the feedback forms, completion of the course and understanding of the subject by assessing students.
