The purpose of this handbook is to introduce and update faculty members of the College of Public Health (COPH), Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University (IAU), on the current status of the college and relevant information, for example, its vision, mission, values ​​and statutes of the college. , faculty tasks and responsibilities, administrative organization and support services. The College of Public Health is interested in providing a premier academic environment that will elevate the College locally and regionally and graduate professionals in various public health programs by offering premier academic programs and scientific research, opening channels of communication and interacting with other health sectors and services to meet the growing needs of the Kingdom's population. It is my pleasure to present to the esteemed readers the Faculty Handbook of the College of Public Health as one of the leading and important educational institutions concerned with the health of individuals, and it is considered to be a strong support and suitable for the sons and daughters of this country because it provides them with valuable employment and a good source of income by providing hospitals, health and professional centers with well-qualified national technical personnel in the fields of occupational health, environmental health, public health, health information management and technology .

It is the largest leading country in the Arab Gulf States and Islamic countries due to the presence of the Islamic sites, the holy mosques in Mecca and Medina. That is why Saudi Arabia is called the "Land of the Two Holy Mosques" and its king the "Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques". Riyadh is the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is located in the central region.

The Great Nafud Desert in the north and the Rub Al Khali (The Empty Quarter), one of the largest sand deserts in the world, form large stretches of sand dunes in the south. The two large deserts are connected by a belt of narrow sand dunes known as Ad Dahna, which transforms almost a third of the area of ​​Saudi Arabia into a sand desert. Saudi Arabia is one of the world's largest oil producing countries and has the world's largest crude oil reserves.

Rights and duties of the faculty member

The duties of a university faculty "teaching faculty member" derive from the qualities, characteristics, and principles to be met in the faculty member's personality, which include, but are not limited to, integrity, honesty, probity, ability, efficiency, neutrality, equality. and freedom of inquiry, subject to compliance with the Islamic values ​​and principles that form the fundamental foundation of the Saudi community system. I will refrain from and refrain from establishing personal relationships with students, keeping my behavior away from anything or any act that may raise suspicion or suspicion, such as accepting gifts or personal courtesies and compliments with students or their families. them at the expense of the educational process. I will refrain from giving private lessons and lessons and will stay away from any actions likely to diminish, compromise or damage the integrity of the university faculty.

I will do my best to guide the students, seek to solve the difficulties and problems that they may encounter, provide care to everyone without any discrimination or bias, avoid overloading the students with roles or works that are not part of their central tasks and give room for discussion and objections within the boundaries of the education course. I shall refrain from disclosing the student's secrets of which I may be privy, unless such disclosure is based on a court order or to avoid serious harm to others. A university faculty is similarly prohibited from utilizing its knowledge or skills to offer assistance in a manner that may be harmful to the student's psychological, emotional, or academic standing.

A university faculty must stay within the limits of his or her skills and, if necessary, enlist the help of faculty who are more knowledgeable and efficient than him or her, especially in the field of scientific research. He or she must avoid negligence, variations in and falsification of the research findings and misuse and fabrication of the research conclusions. A university faculty must be aware of and be familiar with emerging and new developments in the subject area of ​​his or her specialty as well as knowledge of the community's educational culture, the educational issues at hand and teaching methods and styles.

A university faculty shall engage in the implementation of university policies regarding scholarly content and. He or she should pay attention and be attentive to the relative weight of both the content of the learning process and the exams. In the absence of another specialist, a specialized university faculty cannot refuse any scientific consultation if requested.

The Faculty will have to report all suspicious cases of abuse of scientific trust to the competent authorities and provide a detailed report on this at the time it was offered to it. In the event that University faculty ceases to mentor one of its students for any reason, it must provide its replacement faculty with the correct and valid information, written or oral, that it deems necessary to continue the studies. work. Adherence to the relevant rules and regulations of the department, the college and the university while carrying out various academic activities. Adhere to examination tables and follow rules and instructions given by the college in this regard. Participate in the teaching of students for advanced studies, interns and interns on various programs at the college as specified by the institute board or the chairman.

Active participation in programs promoting the skills of faculty members organized by the department, the college or the university. Strive to achieve development and continuous update of knowledge, professional skills in different academic and clinical aspects, including teaching/learning and evaluation, in response to academic performance standards expected by the college and university. Scientific Publications should clearly indicate affiliation with the college and the university; this is also applicable when giving lectures about works done within the university.

Take the initiative to propose programs, policies and plans to improve the working environment at the college.

Avoid using the college name of the university for personal gain and interests. Admit that you have a financial interest in trading companies or companies that provide services or products to the University and have financial transactions. Observe official working hours and avoid collaboration with parties outside the university without prior permission from the college and the university.

The college recognizes hardworking and outstanding teaching staff and honors them with appreciation for their distinctive performance in teaching. In accordance with policies and procedures established by the university, the Discipline Committee is established by the College of Public Health to respond more quickly to student and faculty disciplinary issues and provide an immediate resolution with an appropriate action plan.
