The Course Description in Brief:
This course builds up a prerequisite course, namely “Selected Translation (1)”. It provides students with more advanced translation theories, problem issues, and translation literature by eminent theorists and researchers. It also highlights the mental and linguistic skills and competencies involved in the process of translation. The course also offers more practical training in written translation of a wide spectrum of texts from Arabic to English and vice-versa.
The Course Objectives:
This course aims at increasing students’ knowledge of the principles, process, issues and methods of translation from Arabic into English, and vice-versa. In this course, students will be exposed to more advanced translational strategies and applications, translation complex nature and the research skills that are needed in this field. The course also helps students implement translation theories in practical training to overcome the different problems facing the translator.

Assessment Methods:
Assessment mechanism is based on a continuous assessment of in-class performance, assignments, periodic tests, and a final exam.
