It includes 22 Arab countries and aims to activate the joint Arab work in the field of Geographical Names, issue geographical names magazines, Atlases, glossaries and indexes, produce maps and charts to be used for various purposes, participate in related conferences and workshops and provide integrated information about geographical names through various digital and paper products.

This Committee has the responsibility of standardization the writing of geographical names in Jordan, publishing of Jordanian geographical index, adopting the system of writing geographical names in Latin (Romanization), providing information bank for new geographical names and follow up the updated developments related to geographical names.

Many Arab countries and North Africa countries in Africa participated in this Forum in addition to the president of the UNEGN and many scientists and experts in the field of geographical names. RJGC presented three papers in this field and many recommendations and suggestionS were approved.
• The 2nd Joint Symposium of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) about the emerging Space Activities and Civil Aviation – Challenges and Opportunities during the period from 15-17 March, 2016.
• The Twenty-ninth session of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names which was held in Bangkok, Thailand during the period from 25-29 April 2016 in which three papers in the field of Geographical Names were presented.
• The Drupa Print Media Fair 2016 in Dusseldorf/ Germany during the period 4-11 June, 2016, which was about the Global Print Industry & Cross media Solutions in the field of printing, photography, mapping, scanning of spatial and aerial images.
