Course Description

Introduction, Definition of Pollution, Water contamination sources (surface – subsurface), Types of contamination, characteristics of contamination sources, radioactive contamination, trace and heavy metals contamination, solute plume shape in different media, monitoring of contamination, numerical and analytical methods of solute transport, contamination remediation and control, case studies.

Course Objectives

1. General introduction about contamination and its role in our lives, define the contamination.

2. Classify all the water contamination sources that occur in the natures (surface and sub-surface).

3. Studying all the types of contamination..

4. Learning in detail the Characteristics of contamination sources.

5. Learning in detail the radioactive contamination.

6. Studying the Trace and Heavy metals contamination.

7. Studying the solute plume shape in different media.

8. Learning the Monitoring of contamination, and contamination remediation and control.

9. Studying the Numerical and analytical methods of solute transport.

10. Learning and studying some case studies.
