Ministerial Decree number ( 98) of the year 2004 Concerning ban on importation of Equidae

family from the Republic of South Africa

The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries .

Having examined the federal law number(1) of the year 1972 on the functions of the ministers and powers of Ministers and the laws issued in amendment thereof .

And the federal law number(21) of the year 2001, concerning civil service in the federal government,

And the federal law number(6) of the year 1979 concerning the animal quarantine and the laws issued in amendment thereof,

And the cabinet decision number (12) of the year 1989 concerning the organizational structure of the ministry of agriculture and fisheries,

And the Ministerial decree number (104) concerning importation of Equidae family,

And with regard to the information received from the World Organization For Animal Health {O.I.E.} which reports the appearance of African Horse Sickness Cases in the Republic of South Africa ,

And in view of the ministry concern on the safety of man and animal in the country against any transpondry or contagious diseases especially zoonotic ones .

Be in acted the following ;

Article(1)

Ban the importation of Equidae family from the Republic of South Africa due to the appearance of African Horse Disease .

Article(2)

The head of the higher technical committee of Equidae shall coordinate with the concerned bodies in the country to carry out the provisions of this decree .

Article (3)

All the concerned bodies shall act to carry out the provisions of this decree according to their responsibilities , and it shall be considered effective from the date of its issuance and to be published in the official Gazette.
