INTRODUCTION

The revitalization of the neglected area of the city has become an area of interest for the government. What types of community facilities and commercial development would the people of Khorfakkan like the government or developers to provide to increase the recreational and economic value of the area.

Aims and Objectives of the Research

The total number of chapters will help document the research plan with different phases in line with the goals and objectives already addressed. This chapter 3 will also be an example of the research methodology used in this study to cover the procedure of data collection, interpretation, analysis and preliminary discussion in accordance with the goals and objectives already stated in chapter number 1.

CHAPTER 2: LITERATURE REVIEW Literature Review

Infrastructure Planning Challenges

Such factors have the ability to completely cripple the city's infrastructure and affect the lives of every single person who lives or works in the city. Meanwhile, work on development of new and maintenance of existing infrastructure in the city is also delayed at regular intervals.

Competitiveness

According to Thomas Kuhin in his book "The Structure of Scientific revolutions", when a model does not explain reality, then there is a need for a new shift. This is the first law enacted in the world as a result of advocacy pressure demonstrated by various groups, including Rachel Carson.

Sustainable Urban Development Definitions

Sustainable Development and Cities

More than half of the contemporary world resides in an area of urban development that largely contributes to environmental degradation. Therefore, to address this issue taking into account the annual population growth, governments around the world are considering the development of sustainable urban cities (Semet & Routhier, 2016).

Practical Implementation of Sustainable Cities by Planners

Whereas, the conflict in resources is represented by the triangular axis 2 which is among the defenses of the economy and the environment. Thinking of how to increase social justice and safe environment at the same time, whether in a stable economy or not.

Perspectives to Conceptualize Sustainable Urban Development

These differences in writings are mainly due to the background of the authors, for example environmentalists, economists and those whose concerns are in the ethical and moral dimensions of sustainable development. As stated by Hazem Galal (Global Leader of Cities and Local Government at PwC, United Arab Emirates), "developments have been observed in the dynamics of urbanization and require a need to shift from a method of business as usual to the highly cooperative one, that allows.

Urban Sustainability Model

A comprehensive recognition of a new rule needed in governing the planning and development of cities. This is highly dependent on the greater demand for integration of urban scale and systems with stakeholders, so that a strong relationship can be built that will be useful in decision-making and policy development processes (Kaygusuz, 2012).

Challenges in the Pathway to Urban Sustainability

Therefore, management will have to be created for such cities that will overlook the practices, behavior and actions of people and businesses in the region whether they implement and carry out their daily activities sustainably (McWilliams & Siegel, 2011). Urban sustainability has three dimensions, namely environment, economy and society and governing bodies will have to overlook all three of these dimensions.

Public Space

PPS(PPS,2009) talked about this element in relation to the complexity of public spaces that lies below the time it took to do everything in a public space. The case study is very interesting, although it is not related to facilities in public spaces.

Walkability

The health of the public is the main concern, while the characteristics of urban are linked with pedestrian provision. In addition, a planning strategy in which the requirements of the cyclists and pedestrians who maintain the quality of community together with the health of the public, require parks, services and vehicles of high quality with manageable rates. Although the lifestyle of every individual has completely changed due to pandemic, due to which the government and other decision makers must be called for immediate actions for the sustainability of the community living in the needs of people.

Transportation

According to research by Goldman and Gorham, sustainable transport is better suited to ecological transport innovations. He highlighted four sets of activities that sustainable transport policy: The latest mobility (a study on the planning of activities at the daily level), city logistics (a study on the business of goods), intelligent system management (a study on the relationship between infrastructure and institutions that control) and accessibility (way of interaction between society and the transport system). The design of a sustainable transport network depends on the development of a mixed transport network consisting of public and private modes of transport aimed at achieving the aforementioned sustainable transport goals.

Urban Social Sustainability

While the reading shows the lack of urban planners to translate these aspects into policies that would effectively maintain the improvement of urban social sustainability, planning urban spaces, in my view, shows the lack of implementation of some of the urban social sustainability aspects, which is the role of the urban planner.

Economics

For example, investing in solar energy panels is one of the steps towards economic sustainability. The United Arab Emirates continues to be one of the main local centers for exchanges, ventures and other monetary exercises. The environment of the area is influenced by the area located in the northern district of India.

Case Study 1: The City which is Sustainable in Dubai

The mixed-use zones form a sustainable city that includes residential, schooling, commercial, farming and leisure. Residential area of 500 apartments and townhouses driven by the metropolitan fabric and legacy of Dubai's old 'Bastakyia' area, consisting of a few metropolitan subjects at 3- and 4-room choices that open it up to all, as well as eco resort of 143 cabins and individual units, exclusive practical inn and resort with a top spa community in the Sustainable City of Dubai is controlled by 600,000 square feet of solar-based chargers placed on the roofs, all things being equal, at about 10 to provide megawatts of peak solar power production for use within the city. The Sustainable City offers pedestrians suitable shaded places for walking, running and cycling, and subsequently supports and empowers a functional way of life that relies as little as possible on cars.

Case Study 2: District of Tomorrow in Dubai

A tram system was included in the design of the redevelopment of the existing airport. May include playground residents) for recreation and sports activities of the young people in the residential community. According to U.A.E Book 2018, "The targets of "The UAE Strategy to Look to the Future", which is the commitment of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and Future, is to identify opportunities and problems in all areas of the United Arab Emirates determined. , to dismantle them and to promote long-term plans that empower activity at every level that will achieve results that serve the interests of the United Arab Emirates.” (U.A.E Book, 2018).

The qualitative interviews will be applied together with the quantitative research to further explore the scope of the research. The results will be qualitatively analyzed to investigate the reasons behind the need for revitalization of the agricultural land. However, the size may vary as it depends on the acceptance of the residents to participate in the interviews.

Findings from Survey Questionnaire

From the bar graph, we can conclude that none of the respondents were selling and buying goods in this area. This was followed by several benefits that were rated poorly by more than 50% of respondents. However, the majority of respondents rated only two amenities as good, namely the landscaping (64%) and the markets that exist in al Sharq Old Souq near the city (24%).

Discussion of findings

The last comment was made by three of the respondents suggesting the municipality to provide majlis for locals and community centers that improve social communication. Furthermore, one of the respondents stated "why would residents go to Al Sharq Old Souq if there were many missing facilities, even elementary ones such as the park, benches and bathrooms". Therefore, this is considered as a second factor for the lack of people in the area. The last factor can be determined in the answers to the seventh question that had to do with the ranking of the specific services that would be offered in the area.

CHAPTER 5: Interview Results and Discussion
