Vision:
The research vision of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University is: to be prominent in the field of scientific research, discovery and advisory studies to create a culture of curious thought, entrepreneurship and innovation for the benefit of the university and its community, the eastern region and mankind.
Mission:
To create a stimulating environment that would enhance intellectual curiosity, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of scientific research and discovery to serve the goals of national and human development.

Ethics of Research on Living Creatures:
On Biomedical Research Ethics:
The Vice-Deanship for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and the Deanship of Scientific Research at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University is committed to providing the appropriate and necessary environment for conducting biological research on humans and living organisms safely and effectively, ensuring the rights of participants and preventing exposure to the slightest danger and harm.
Since the Deanship of Scientific Research is the funding and supervisory body for the follow-up of clinical, biomedical, operational and behavioral research at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, so it is keen, during the review of research proposals, to be compatible with the Kingdom’s regulations and international standards that govern the protection of participants in vital research, for example, International Ethical Guidelines for Human Biomedical Research and the Helsinki Declaration. We offer our contribution to the design of these studies, including the treatment of regulatory issues and matters.

Vision
Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University considers the use of humans and animals in research and teaching as an integral component of continuous progress in teaching and learning; The university expects that all researchers abide by the highest ethical and professional standards when researching living organisms, and that such research is conducted by the provisions of Islamic Sharia in force, the prevailing regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the regulations and systems of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University.

to the Permanent Committee for the Ethics of Scientific Research on Living Organisms at Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University to ensure the happiness, well-being and care of all living creatures used in scientific research, and that the research that takes place at the university’s headquarters is done ethically, has scientific justification, and is carried out following Islamic law and applicable laws and regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Office of Research Monitoring and Research Ethics
The Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University is a research institution and based on the Prophet's guidance "God loves if one of you does a quality work that he masters", it seeks to establish scientific research and its products with the highest standards The university has paid attention not only to formulate a policy for scientific research, but is striving steadily to develop and implement procedures that guarantee The best means to master research during its implementation, in addition to the importance of preparing the environment necessary for conducting research, international standards and local regulations necessary for the safety of humans and the living organisms in question and their environment have been adopted. And as the Permanent Committee for Research Ethics on Living Creatures was formed according to the Kingdom’s system for research ethics on living creatures, the university has also established the Office of Research Monitoring and Research Ethics to be of assistance to researchers, and to enable them to work under the regulations, and ethics necessary to ensure quality in scientific research in the sites of conducting their research.
As well as to achieve the strategic plan that the university is going to be not an educational, research institution, but also a productive one to reach the goals of social and economic development of knowledge, taking into account the standards of quality of the procedure, production and scientific publishing, hoping that our university, with God’s help, will be a global research beacon.

Ensure that research is conducted according to the Executive Regulations for Research Ethics on Living Creatures Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University.

Animal care and use in scientific research:
The procedures for the care and use of animals in scientific research are among the obligations that guarantee human treatment of animals in research The course at Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University. Because of the importance of using other living organisms for development and human well-being, such policies and associated regulations have been prepared. Although rodents and rabbits are currently used for research purposes at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, we have developed these procedures to include other species and as shown in the procedures, adhere to the following when using animals in research:
Restrict the use of animals in research where goals can only be achieved by using them
Reducing the number of animals proposed in the research project to the lowest number possible to achieve the goals
Reviewing research methods to reduce pain and stress in animals used to conduct research
Working “Animal Care Main Committee And use it in scientific research” to ensure that researchers follow these policies and procedures when conducting research on animals for research purposes at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University. We have used globally accepted procedures to develop this policy necessary to ensure the global quality of our programs for the care and use of animals in scientific research. In addition, the detailed nature of this policy is designed to provide the Main Committee for Animal Care and Use in Scientific Research, the researcher, animal care officials (veterinary medicine and his team) with detailed procedures to suit With accrediting agencies, and the training programs attached to these policies will spread knowledge awareness and ensure procedures for all aspects of animal research programs.

The Main Committee for Animal Care and Use in Scientific Research was formed based on Administrative Decision No.: 43216 dated 1436/6/5 AH. It consists of:

Duties:
Reviewing and approving research projects that require the use of animals whether for research, education or training.
Carry out regular and field visits to the animal house and other places where animals are used to ensure that the highest standards of humane dealing with animals are applied.
Submitting a periodic report on researchers’ practices regarding the application of research ethics to animals.
Follow-up on the implementation of research that requires the use of animals, after approval.
Setting standards for the practice of animal breeding and care and supervising their application.
Follow up the achievement of the objectives and tasks of the Research Control Office.
