In 2016, in the context of slow and instable economic growth in the world, Vietnam economy continued to recover impressively.
In general, Vietnam has done quite well the objective of maintaining macroeconomic stability but it still imposes many challenges. The book outlines the overview of the world economy in some countries and regions and some outstanding economic, social and environmental issues of Vietnam in 2016, the first months of 2017. The books consists of 3 parts.
Part 1 gives an overview of the world economy in terms of growth rate, global trade, global investment, exchange rates among key currencies, global public debt, global inflation, foreign exchange market, world economic outlook in 2017, at the same time, analyzes the economic development of some typical countries and regions such as the USA, Europe, Japan, China, Southeast Asia.
Part 2 analyzes the macroeconomic situation and some outstanding issues of Vietnam such as enterprise, labor market, development policy, fourth industrial revolution, environment and climate change response.
Part 3 provides policy recommendations to stabilize macroeconomics and control inflation, accelerate domestic reforms and international integration, improve competence in environmental management and response to natural disasters and climate change.
