SUMMARY
Improvement of management knowledge and skill for the health managers at provincial and district level is essential to contribute significantly to increase the efficiency of health care sen/ice pmvision. With the aim of developing tmining programs appropriate to the real needs, the project "Support to the health cam policy for the poor" funded by the Luxembourg Government conducted tmining needs assessment of staff management of provincial and district levels in two provinces of Cao Bang, Bac Kan. Study findings show that there are still big gap between the current management knowledge/skill and working need mquired. One of the masons is the low rate of health managers attended management training courses, remaining neariy three-quarters managers are not involved any kind of training program for managers.
