I have the honor to refer to the previous exchange of notes concerning the International Agreement for the Regulation of Whaling, signed in London on 8 June. 9/71, in which I draw my attention to the fact that in 1937 the Government of the United States of America and the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have entered into an agreement on the regulation of whaling. from the International Convention for the Regulation of Baling signed at London on June 8, 1937, as amended by the Protocol of 1938, pursuant to Article 21 of the said Convention, and that in accordance therewith.

I am instructed to give notice of the withdrawal of the Government of Iceland from the International Agreement for the Regulation of Whaling, signed in London on 8 June 1937, as amended by the Protocol of 24 June 1938 under No. 21 of the said Agreement. and that, in accordance with the provisions of Article 21, the Agreement shall cease to have effect with respect to the Government of Iceland after June 30, 1949.
