Chapter Summary
The above literature shows us that skills development and SMEs play a key role in reducing the impact of poverty on individuals and communities. The literature reveals that skills development not only empowers an individual by increasing his/her chances of employment, but also helps develop communities. From the literature collected from different countries it is clear that the functionality of the integrated service delivery model depends on many things.
The literature indicates that OSS is an expression of the integrated service delivery model operating through the war room model. 141 Palmer and King (2007) Skills Development and Poverty Reduction: A State of the Art Review, European Training Foundation,.

- Chapter Summary
The focus group discussions took place concurrently with and immediately after the monthly task team meetings. Only members of the YAs program were eligible to participate in the focus group discussions. This was because the focus group discussion took place shortly after the monthly OSS meetings.
During the arrangement of the focus group with the Convenors, the time limit of a group discussion was clearly mentioned. Extensive notes and summarization of the discussion with the participants during the focus group session facilitated more efficient analysis.

- The One Home One Garden Campaign
- Measuring the One Home One Garden using the three types of Poverty
- Poverty, Entrepreneurship and Skills Development
The second is lifting people out of poverty, which deals with reducing the actual number of poor people by transforming them from poor to non-poor status. By using these three types of poverty reduction mechanisms, the One Home, One Garden campaign matches the first mechanism, ie. this campaign's failure to make a positive difference has been attributed to a number of things.
The third type of poverty reduction mechanism is poverty prevention, which aims to enable people to avoid falling into poverty by reducing their vulnerability. There is also an Access to Finance program which is also part of the EThekwini Municipality Business Support Unit.
