BRITS POS – RUSTENBURG – ‘n Jong man (21), Amogelang Mokoena, ‘n graad 11-leerder van die Modisakeng Secondary School in Majakaneng, wes van Brits het Saterdag, 1 Oktober, klaarblyklik net na middagete ongesiens weggeglip om te gaan swem en het verdrink.
Hy het die naweek ‘n lewensvaardigheidseminaar by ‘n hotel buite Rustenburg bygewoon.
Klaarblyklik het die leerders soggens binnenshuise-aktiwiteite bygewoon en na middagete kon hulle vir ontspanning sokker speel en dit is tydens die sessie wat die leerder gaan swem het.
Hotelgaste het hom in die swembad gewaar en hy is uit die water gehaal en noodhulp is op hom toegepas, maar hy is ongelukkig na paramedici se aankoms op die toneel, dood verklaar.
Die gedenkdiens word vandag, Donderdag, 6 Oktober om 09:00 by die skool in Majakaneng gehou.
BRITS POS – BRITS - Misdaad in Suid-Afrika is ‘n werklikheid en enigiemand
kan ‘n slagoffer word. Daar is egter ‘n paar maatreëls wat jy kan tref om jouself endie mense vir wie jy omgee, te beskerm.
Onthou die volgende: Kriminele is altyd op die uitkyk vir maklike teikens. As jy kwesbaar lyk of as dit lyk of jy nie oplettend is nie, kan jy maklik ‘n teiken word.

• Wees oplettend wanneer jy of jou vrou by die huis by die hek in- of uitry. Rowers gebruik dikwels ‘n geleentheid soos hierdie wanneer jou aandag by iets anders is om toe te slaan. Hulle bestudeer boonop mense se roetines soos wanneer en watter tye mense vanaf die huis vertrek of wanneer hulle by die huis arriveer om toe te slaan. Wees altyd op die uitkyk vir verdagte motors en/
of persone in die omgewing van jou hek of jou motor-oprit.
• Moenie dat vreemdes onnodig sien jy het heelwat kontant, duur juweliersware soos horlosies of selfone in jou besit nie.
Artikels soos hierdie is dikwels genoeg om ‘n desperate dief te oortuig dat jy ‘n
maklike slagoffer kan wees. Wees opjou hoede vir diewe/rowers wat hulle as munisipale werkers of beamptes van
openbare diensverskaffers voordoen teneinde toegang tot jou woonhuis te kry.
Wees veral versigtig vir vreemdes by jou deur as jy nie besoekers verwag nie en wanneer jy alleen tuis is. Moenie jou hek sommer vir vreemdes oopmaak nie.
• Doen die nodige agtergrond-ondersoek na mense voordat jy enigiemand vir werk in diens neem. Onthou dat hierdie mense goed opgelei is en dat dit maklik is om ‘n
niksvermoedende persoon te flous. Weeswaaksaam, wakker en oplettend vir tekens wat jou onraad kan laat vermoed. Onthou ook om altyd afskrifte van sodanige werkers se ID-dokumente te versoek en seker te maak dat hierdie nie vervalste dokumente is nie.
• Moet nooit deure of sekuriteitshekke by jou woning ooplaat nie omdat dit die veiligheid van jou hele gesin bedreig.
Veiligheidshekke moet te alle tye gesluit bly met die sleutels buite bereik van enigiemand wat by of naby die hek staan.
• Wees baie versigtig wanneer jy in ‘n onbekende area in jou motor sit of buite jou motor rondbeweeg. Onthou, misdaad kan maklik gewelddadig word en jy kan oorval en van jou motor beroof word.
• Onthou altyd dat dit vir enige gesoute voertuigkaper of –rower hoegenaamd nie
‘n probleem is om ‘n motorruit stukkend te slaan en ‘n motordeur oop te maak nie. Sorg dat jy veilig is en onthou om die motor se toeter lank en aanhoudend te druk indien jou veiligheid bedreig word. Moet ook onder geen omstandighede waardevolle artikels in jou motor aan onbekendes of voornemende rowers of diewe vertoon nie.
• Maak altyd seker dat jou motordeure gesluit is en dat alle vensters heeltemal toe is. Wees baie versigtig vir sogenaamde
“remote jamming” wat diewe dikwels gebruik om te verhoed dat al jou motordeure sluit wanneer jy jou voertuig verlaat en die afstandbeheer gebruik om die motor te sluit. Maak ook seker dat niemand dalk in jou voertuig skuil wanneer jy uit ‘n besige inkopiesentrum kom en in jou motor klim nie.
• Hattingh sê hierdie wenke behoort mense oor die algemeen baie te help om
nie ‘n slagoffer van misdadigers te wordnie. Dit is ook ‘n goeie idee om hierdie wenke met jou gesin, vriende en familie te deel sodat al hoe meer mense paraat kan optree.

BRITS POS – HEBRON - A teacher (62) and a learner that he gave a lift, travelled from Letlhabile to Hebron on Monday, 26 September.
The teacher stopped at an intersection where the learner would get off, but as he opened the car’s door, two men held them at gunpoint and they were forced into the backseat of the car. One of the suspects got into the driver’s seat while the other suspect held the victims at gunpoint.
The suspect took the teacher’s wallet with his ID, bank cards, driver’s license and his cellphone and he was then forced to increase the withdrawal limits on his banking accounts via the banking app on his phone. They also took the learner’s cellphone. After withdrawing a large amount of cash, they handed the car keys to the victim and instructed him to drive home.
According to Captain Aafje Botma, SAPS North West spokesperson, no arrests have yet been made, but anyone with information on the case can call the Investigating Officer of Hebron police station, Sgt. Mashangu on 084 495 2346.

BRITS POS – BRITS - A resident from Ga-Rankuwa was at the robot intersection at Magalies Hills Mall on Thursday, 29 September around 11:45 when all of a sudden a man held him at gunpoint through his vehicle’s open window and another two men approached, and they all swiftly got into the victim’s car and he was ordered to drive in the direction of Thabazimbi and into the bushes at the Madibeng sewerage works.
The suspects took the victim’s wallet with cash, bank cards and cellphone and fled the scene when they noticed that someone, who incidentally is a colleague of the victim, noticed his car parked in the bushes and then approached to ascertain what was wrong.
“An armed robbery case was opened at Brits police station,” says Capt Aafje Botma, spokesperson SAPS North West and no arrests have been made, but anyone with information can call the Investigating Officer, Sgt.

BRITS POS – BRITS - Ernest Comfort Mboweni (46) appeared in the Rustenburg Magistrates’
Court on Wednesday, 28 September, for illegal possession of explosives.
He was remanded in custody and will appear before the Marikana Magistrates’ Court today, 29 September.
Mboweni’s court appearance emanates from his apprehension in Wonderkop, Marikana around14:00 on Monday, 26 September, during a crime intelligence operation by members of a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of National and Brits Crime Intelligence, Hartbeespoortdam K9, Crime Prevention as well as Brits Visible Policing. They intercepted and searched a Nissan NP 300 bakkie, driven by Mboweni. During the search, the police found a plastic bag in the vehicle, containing bundles of explosives with an estimated street value of R22 000 and Mboweni was arrested on the spot.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, congratulated the police officers involved for their collaboration that led to the success.

Suspect appears in court for illegal possession of explosives
BRITS POS – HEBRON - A woman (46) and her boyfriend stopped at a tuck shop in Hebron to buy goods on Friday, 30 September, around 22:45.
When they returned, two males, one armed, approached them and told them to get into the boot of the car while holding them at gunpoint. The couple obliged and the suspects drove around with them, when all of a sudden, the vehicle stopped and the suspects opened the boot and the victims were told to get out and all their valuables were placed in another vehicle.
They took the victims’ cellphones and the female had to confirm her banking pin codes.
The suspects then drove off with the couple in the lady’s vehicle and dumped them in bushes, which was later confirmed to be in Tsebe Village.
Cases of carjacking and kidnapping was opened at Hebron police station and the vehicle, a white VW Polo Classic was recovered by Tracker in the Mabopane area.
“No arrests have yet been made and anyone with information is requested to call the Hebron police station on 012 706 0300,”

BRITS POS – MOOINOOI - A man who is an employee at a local mine was overpowered by four men as he returned home from Venda on Sunday, 25 September to Mamba Masimong section in Mooinooi around 23:15.
Two of the suspects were armed and the victim was held at gunpoint. They wanted him to hand over his pickup truck, and he told them that he had left it at his home in Venda.
They demanded that he brings it back to South Africa soonest, as they’ll be needing it and the suspects then took the victim’s cellphone and cash.
He only reported it to the Mooinooi police station the next day, as he wasn’t sure what to do and his colleagues convinced him to open a case of armed robbery at the Mooinooi police station.

BRITS POS - BRITS - Cigarettes and vapes – and those in South Africa who smoke them – are on track to face much tighter regulation, reports Business Insider.
South Africa’s laws around cigarettes and electronic vaping products are one step closer to becoming much stricter, as a bill first tabled five years ago finally heads to Parliament.
Major changes are on the horizon for South Africa’s smokers following Cabinet’s recent approval of the Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery Systems Control Bill’s submission to Parliament. This bill, when introduced as part of the country’s legislature, will replace the Tobacco Products Control Act of 1993. The South African government, and the department of health, in particular, want tobacco products to be much more tightly controlled, in line with directives issued by the World Health Organisation. This regulatory control extends to the sale, advertising, packaging, and labelling of tobacco products. It’s also much stricter on where cigarettes and vapes can be smoked legally.
The key aims of this bill, which was first tabled in 2018, are “to deter people, especially children and youth, from using tobacco products, encourage existing users to quit, and protect non- smokers from tobacco smoke exposure.”
No smoking indoors, with even some outdoor public spaces off-limits
The bill proposes to outlaw smoking – of traditional tobacco products and electronic nicotine delivery systems, more commonly referred to as vapes – in all enclosed public places. The same goes for smoking too close to “an operable window or ventilation inlet of an entrance or exit”
of “an enclosed public place, enclosed workplace, or in or on a public conveyance.”
The health minister is empowered, under the bill, to go a step further and prohibit smoking in certain outdoor areas to “reduce or prevent the public’s exposure to smoking.”
Smoking in a motor vehicle or any enclosed private space, while in the presence of a non- smoker or a child, will also be prohibited, as will smoking in an enclosed common area of a multi- unit residence, like a stairwell or passage.
In addition to defining where a person can and can’t smoke in South Africa, the bill also makes several sweeping changes to how tobacco products may be packaged, labelled, displayed, and sold.
Branded boxes replaced with graphic images, stronger health warnings
The health minister will be responsible for prescribing standardised packaging and labelling requirements for tobacco products sold in South Africa. At the very least, the packaging “must have a uniform plain colour and texture” and be of the same “size, type, and shape”.
All brand elements on the packaging will be prohibited, although the brand name and product name may appear on packaging in a standard colour and typeface. Health warnings, also in the form of pictures and graphics, will dominate the packaging, and just how detailed the manufacturer’s branding elements are allowed to be will be decided by the minister.
Life gets harder for smokers
The packaging and labelling of electronic nicotine delivery systems, electronic non-nicotine delivery systems, and tobacco devices will also be decided by the minister. This “may include standardised packaging” as with traditional tobacco products.
You won’t see cigarettes in stores
And it’s not just the homogenised plain packaging that will make tobacco products tough to distinguish and even spot. The bill proposes that retailers and wholesalers won’t be allowed to display tobacco products “but may make the product available to consumers upon request provided that the requestor is not a child.” Instead, stores will be limited to displaying “a single prescribed notice informing consumers that a list of relevant or related products for sale, along with their prices and quantities, may be requested at the sales counter.” Cigarette vending machines will also be outlawed.
The health minister intends to introduce the Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery Systems Control Bill in the National Assembly “shortly”, said a notice published by the department on Thursday.

Weerkenners is van mening dat ons tans in ‘n La Niña-fase is.
Van Oktober tot November sal tropiese lug wat teen die oostelike wand van die binnelandtrog na die suide beweeg bydra tot ‘n 30% moontlikheid van bo normale neerslag oor die sentrale en noordelike binneland. Dit sal ‘n herhalingspatroon wees met donderweer wat aanvanklik oor die westelike binneland begin uitsak waarna die hele band waarin donderweer voorkom geleidelik tot die Vrystaat en verder noord skuif.
Buiten donderweer, wat met die binnelandtrog geassosieer word, sal hoogdrukke wat suid om die land lê, bydra tot meer as normale reën in die Oos-Kaap.
Van Desember tot Januarie sal instroming van tropiese lug uit die noorde toeneem, wat beteken dat ‘n groter deel van die land meer as normale reën kan verwag. Dit sluit ook die oostelike deel van Namibië in.
Die laaste deel van somer, van Februarie af, sal instroming van tropiese lug uit die noorde begin afneem en ‘n 30% kans vir meer as normale reënval oor ‘n groot gedeelte van die land, maar daar is terselfdertyd ‘n 30% moontlikheid van droër as normale toestande in die suidweste.
Temperature gedurende somer: alhoewel ons warmer as normale dagtemperature in die binneland verwag, sal die einste “warmer weer”
genoeg wolke en reën bring om die gemiddelde somertemperatuur tot laer as normaal te dwing.

BRITS POS – BRITS - Messaging service WhatsApp is developing several new features for its platform – with some coming sooner than others, such as the on-tap call link, which started recently.
The new call linking feature will allow users to generate a link for a call to share with others, so they can join the call with a single tap.
WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart noted that the feature is compatible with both audio and video calls and will be accessible through a banner at the top of the Calls tab.
Meta chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg announced on Facebook that the new call linking feature would arrive on the messaging platform within the week. The platform is also testing secure encrypted video calling for up to 32 people.
Other notable features coming to WhatsApp include a Do not disturb API for missed calls; a camera update; an option to save disappearing messages; and a document caption for android.
These additional updates are detailed below according to WABetaInfo:
Do not disturb API: This feature will allow WhatsApp to detect when the do not disturb mode was enabled. When a call is missed, and the do not disturb mode is enabled on iOS, the reason why the call was missed is highlighted within the conversation and the call history section. This information is only visible on your side, so the recipient doesn’t know that you missed the call because the ‘do not disturb’ mode was enabled on your device. This feature is currently under development.
Camera update: WhatsApp is working on two new buttons to let users switch the camera mode from photo to video and vice versa. In the current version of WhatsApp, you need to tap and hold to record a video, but thanks to this feature, you do not need to tap and hold in the future but just switch to the video mode. This feature is currently under development and will be available for both Android and iOS.
Save disappearing messages: Now that WhatsApp allows users to enable disappearing messages – where messages will disappear after seven days – a new feature will soon allow users to save selected messages. All saved disappearing messages will be listed in a new “kept messages” section. This will be especially handy in work groups, where users can save important notices. It must be noted that only admins can keep or unkeep messages in groups. This feature is still under development.
Document caption for android: Thanks to this feature, it will be possible for Android users to attach a caption to a document before sharing it. This new feature will also allow users to view a preview of the document before sharing it.

“oe en aa” oor die oulike kleinding, maar wat dink jul oudste spruit van die gedoente? Hy het gedog hy kry ’n boetie om mee bal te skop, maar nou is dit ’n baba … en hy kan nie eers sit nie! Boonop kry hy heeltemal te veel aandag na ouboet se sin en weier mamma en pappa om hom terug te vat hospitaal toe. Klink dit bekend?
“Afrikaans.com gee graag raad oor hoe om die netelige sakie te benader sodat ouboet nie uitgesluit en jaloers voel nie,” vertel Annelie van Jaarsveldt, skrywer.
Teleurstelling en onsekerheid
Wanneer die opgewondenheid oor die koms van die nuwe boetie of sussie verby is, kan dit maklik gebeur dat die ouer kind teleurgesteld voel. Hy voel ook onseker en weet nie of mamma en pappa nog lief is vir hom nie omdat hulle nie soveel tyd saam met hom deurbring nie. Dis veral die jonger kleuters (18 maande tot drie jaar) wat moeiliker aanpas by die baba, omdat hulle self nog baie afhanklik van hul ouers is. Hulle voel jaloers en ongelukkig, maar weet nie hoe om hulle gevoelens te verwoord nie. Dit is ook dikwels die koms van die tweede baba wat die oudste kind die meeste omkrap – wanneer daar ’n derde of vierde boetie of sussie opdaag, is dit gewoonlik ou nuus en het die eersgeborene geleer hoe om die situasie te hanteer.
Waarmee kan ouers te kampe hê?
Die nuwe baba kan nogal ’n beduidende impak op ouboet of ousus hê en jou eens soet kind kan skielik so bietjie stout raak. Hy toets die grense en verbreek die reëls – net om ’n reaksie te ontlok.
Maak jou reg vir die volgende gedrag, alhoewel dit nie vir alle kinders geld nie en party kinders die nuwe baba gelate aanvaar:
Jou oudste, wat reeds uit die doeke uit is, keer terug na ‘n vorige ontwikkelingsfase en wil skielik weer doek dra of hy maak bed nat en wil hê jy moet hom weer help aantrek – al het hy voor die baba se koms self aangetrek. Hy krap dalk selfs daardie fopspeen uit of “steel” die baba s’n. Hy wil hê jy moet hom aan die slaap sus.
Hy huil sommer net of kerm en kla oor enige iets.
Hy is klouerig en wil die heeltyd by jou wees en is oor die algemeen net baie veeleisend.
Hy wil heeltyd op jou skoot sit, veral as jy besig is met die baba.
Hy slaap skielik sleg of wil in jou bed slaap.
Hy raak kwaad en gooi tantrums of hy onttrek.
Hy soek skoor met ander kinders, weier om sy speelgoed te deel en is soms aggressief.
Hy is geniepsig teenoor die baba – veral as ma en pa nie kyk nie. Dis mos maklik om die baba seer te maak om te kyk wat die reaksie is. In sy oë is negatiewe aandag beter as geen aandag nie.
As die ouderdomsgaping redelik groot is, en ouboet moet skool toe gaan, kan hy nog meer uitgesluit voel. Dit is dan moontlik dat hy sal kla van maagpyn of dat sy kop seer is – net sodat hy kan tuis bly.
Jaloesie
Berei jou kind voor vir die groot omwenteling Vertel jou kind betyds van die nuwe baba – ouer kinders veral moet dit by jou en niemand anders hoor nie.
Verseker jou kind van jou liefde en dat niemand anders – nie eers die nuwe baba – sy plek in jou hart kan inneem nie.
Maak jou oudste deel van die swangerskap. Doen die volgende:
Laat hy saamgaan wanneer jy vir ’n sonar gaan sodat hy die baba se hartjie kan hoor klop.
Laat hy help kies wanneer jy babaklere koop of die babakamer regkry.
Laat hom toe om aan jou maag te voel, veral as die baba skop.
Praat oor hoe dinge gaan verander – veral dat die baba baie van jou aandag gaan verg, maar dat jy steeds tyd saam met hom sal spandeer.
Verduidelik wat gaan gebeur wanneer die tyd aanbreek – oor die hospitaalverblyf, waar hy gaan bly en wie na hom gaan kyk terwyl jy nie daar is nie.
As jou oudste ’n dogtertjie is, kan jy vir haar haar eie babapop kry wat sy dan kan versorg. Selfs klein seuntjies hou daarvan om vir die “baba” te sorg.
Jaloesie
Na die geboorte: In die hospitaal
Wanneer jou kind in die hospitaal kom kuier, is dit raadsaam om “eers
‘n rukkie alleentyd saam met hom deur te bring, voor hy aan die baba voorgestel word.
Vertel hom hoe jy hom mis en gee vir hom ‘n geskenkie van die baba af. Wanneer jy kan huis toe gaan, laat hy saamry om die baba huis toe te bring.”
Terug by die huis Roetine is belangrik.
As jou oudste byvoorbeeld in die kleuterskool is, hou hom daar.
Neem beurte met die versorging van die baba en jou kind. Op die manier kry jou kind en die baba aandag van albei ouers.
Maak tyd om slaaptydstories te lees – dit sal dalk soms effens moeilik wees, maar julle kan beurte neem.
Drukkies en soentjies is veral nou belangrik.
Jy moet jou liefde voortdurend wys.
Moenie te veel verwag van jou kleinding nie – dit is dikwels ‘n baie emosionele tyd en die aanpassing om nie meer al die aandag te kry nie, kan soms moeilik wees.
Laat jou oudste toe om met die baba te help.
Al is dit iets klein, soos om die doek te gaan haal, of te “help” om die baba te bad. Op die manier voel hy deel van die proses.
Voedingstye kan nogal besig raak. Lees ‘n storie vir jou kind terwyl jy die baba borsvoed.
Gesels met jou kleinding oor sy gevoelens – vra hoe hy voel oor die nuwe boetie of sussie. Op die manier kan jy agterkom as iets pla. Hy moet ook weet dat dit oukei is om soms jaloers te voel.
Verander dan die onderwerp en maak ‘n ophef van al die ongelooflike dinge wat hy doen.
Sê vir jou ouer kind hoeveel die baba van hom hou. Sê byvoorbeeld: “Sussie is so lief vir jou. Sy raak so opgewonde as jy met haar gesels of vir haar sing.”
Maak seker jy gebruik nie die baba as verskoning as jy nie iets kan doen nie, want dit kan veroorsaak dat die ouer kind die baba kan verwyt. Byvoorbeeld:
“Ons kan nie nou biblioteek toe gaan nie – dit is die baba se slaaptyd.” Sê liewer: “Ons kan na middagete biblioteek toe gaan.”
Maak seker jy het ’n ondersteuningsnetwerk wat soms na die baba
kan omsien sodat jy en ouboet of ousus iets alleen en lekker kan doen.
Aggressie
Aggressiewe gedrag mag nie toegelaat word nie, maar hou in gedagte dit is ’n kind wat nog moet leer hoe om sy gevoelens uit te druk.
Verduidelik aan jou kind dat die soort gedrag nie aanvaarbaar is nie.
Probeer ook om die aggressie te “kanaliseer deur die kind se aandag op iets anders te vestig”.
“Moenie slegte gedrag met aandag beloon nie anders word dit herhaal.”
As jy sien jou ouer kind slaan die baba is dit “die beste om nie te oorreageer en op hom te skree of hom kwaai te dissiplineer nie”. Of ’n mens dit nou wil weet of nie, die soort gedrag is gewoonlik te wyte aan stres en veranderinge.
Verduidelik op ’n kalm wyse dat dit verkeerd is om die baba te slaan en dat dit hom seermaak.
“Positiewe ouerskap en goeie verhoudinge binne die gesin, kan vlakke van aggressie laat afneem. Daarenteen kan oordrewe strengheid aggressie aanwakker.”
Moedig die ouer kind aan om oor sy woede of jaloesie te praat. Dit is normale emosies en dit is beter dat die kind dit verwoord.
Die moets en moenies Spandeer elke dag ten minste 15 minute saam met jou oudste terwyl iemand anders na die baba omsien.
Maak seker dat familielede nie net die baba aandag gee nie, maar ook die ouer kind(ers) bietjie bederf/
aandag gee.
Soos reeds genoem, verseker jou kind elke dag van jou liefde en dat geen ander kind sy plek kan inneem nie.
Betrek hom by die baba se versorging en prys liefdevolle gedrag teenoor die baba.
“Moenie verwagtinge by jou kind skep dat die nuwe baba sy maatjie gaan wees nie – dit kan tot diepe teleurgesteldheid lei, veral as die baba net slaap en huil.”
Moenie jou ouer kind weghou van die baba af nie. Moenie nou jou kind blootstel aan ’n drastiese verandering nie – soos byvoorbeeld om die potjie te begin gebruik of om vir die eerste keer speelskool toe te gaan nie.
Moenie jou ouer kind en die baba alleen los nie.
Ongelukke (en soms asprisse) gebeur gou.
Jaloesie
Dit sal ook verbygaan
Dit voel dalk vir jou dat jou kinders nooit gaan klaarkom nie, en dat jou kind maar altyd jaloers gaan wees op sy jonger boetie of sussie. Maar, soos met alles, en mits julle as ouers dit reg hanteer, sal dit ook beter raak. Kort voor lank, gaan hulle waarskynlik beste maats wees – wel, ten minste die meeste van die tyd.

Volgens ds Kobus Mouton, een van die organiseerders, is die teks reeds geskryf en behels ‘n paar tonele, twee spreekkore, musiek-instelsels en ‘n groot koor. “Dié Paasspel sal ‘n eerste van sy soort in Brits wees en ons glo dat dit alle verwagting sal oortref,” sê ds Mouton. Die hoofrede waarom ons besluit het om die vertoning op die planke te bring, is ter eer en verheerliking van Jesus wat ons Lig en Waarheid is, om mense van Brits, as gelowiges bymekaar te bring en natuurlik ook om ná die pandemie weer die vreugde en positiwiteit van samesyn te kan beleef.”
Daar word ‘n beroep op belangstellendes gedoen om betrokke te raak deur as koorlede en spelers deel te neem.
Die eerste byeenkoms is Sondag, 16 Oktober by die NG Kerk Krokodilrivier. Om 17:00 kom die koorlede bymekaar en om 18:00 die spreekkoor en spelers. Olga Ehlers sal as koorleier optree.
Daar word 12 praatrolle en 24 stilrolle benodig. Die spreekkoor sal vanaf geskrewe stukke lees, praat en toneelspeel.

BRITS POS – BRITS – Die gimnaste van Brits Illusions Gimnastiekklub het die Noordwes-provinsie tydens die Gym Games verteenwoordig en almal uitstekende vertonings gelewer.
Die kompetisie, wat in Pretoria vanaf 30 September tot 3 Oktober plaasgevind het, was baie mededingend en gimnaste van regoor die land het hieraan deelgeneem.
“Ek is baie trots op ons gimnaste, hulle het puik presteer en Brits se naam hoog gehou,” sê Madré Zondagh, hoofafrigter van die klub.

BRITS POS – BRITS – Die bestuur en rugbyspelers van Brits Bulldog Rugbyklub het verlede Vrydag die jaar se verrigtinge op ‘n hoë noot tydens die jaarlikse prysuitdeling afgesluit.
Die hoofafrigter, Brandon Gibson, het almal, veral die borge hartlik vir hul betrokkenheid en harde werk deur die jaar bedank.
Gibson het ‘n oorsig oor die jaar se hoogtepunte gegee.
“Die spelers het van die eerste oefening
af, doelgerig op die veld gedraf en ‘n besluit gemaak om nie op te gee nie,” sê hy. “Ons eerste wedstryd speel ons met net twee manne op die reserwebank. Ons verloor die wedstryd, maar deur die hele wedstryd het die spelers nooit opgehou om te baklei nie. Tydens die tweede wedstryd het ons die
knie gebuig en alhoewel ons die wedstryd verloor het, wen ons die geestelike stryd en die spelers besef opnuut dat Brits nooit sal gaan lé nie. In die tweede rondte speel ons net beter en teken daarna in bykans elke wedstryd meer as 40 punte aan. Ons dring
deur na die semi-finale waar ons derde op diepunteleer eindig.”
Gibson voeg tong in die kies by dat die Bulldogs die jaar nie een wedstryd verloor
het nie. “Ons het net uit tyd uit gehardloop.”
Die klub se topspelers is vir harde werk met toekennings vereer: Lance Meintjies (Speler van die Jaar, Spelers se Speler van die Jaar en meeste drieë gedruk.) Naude Nieman (Agterspeler van die Jaar), Jason Dicks (Voorspeler van die Jaar), Jamie Meyer (Lojaalste speler van die Jaar), Francois
