Ideally, people who have symptoms of Covid-19 should stay in the same room and use a separate bathroom than the rest of the household. There is increasing evidence that Covid-19 itself can cause or worsen metabolic syndrome (pre-diabetic condition) and hypertension. There are no clear evidence-based guidelines regarding the ideal time to switch to mechanical ventilation in patients with Covid-19.
Since SARS-CoV-2 is a new virus, we are still learning how our immune response against Covid-19 works and exactly how long the antibodies last. There may be a correlation between the severity of Covid-19 and viral loads (or the duration of the viral shedding period).
