BIOGRAPHIES FOR PANELLISTS PROF JOHANNES CRONJÉ

Prof Johannes Cronjé is a Professor of Digital Teaching and Learning in the Department of Information Technology at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Prior to that, he was the Dean in the Faculty of Informatics and Design.

He has supervised more than 140 Masters' and Doctoral students and published more than 65 peer reviewed papers. He is a sought-after international keynote speaker and has been a visiting professor at seven universities internationally.

DR ROZE PHILLIPS

Dr Roze Phillips is Faculty, Associate of the Centre for Business Ethics and Board member of GIBS Business School. She practises as an African Futurist and Advisor on the Future of Work through her company Abundance at Work. Dr Phillips specifically works with leaders to unleash the business and societal value that can be unlocked when human ingenuity combine with intelligent machines to solve for dignity, sustainability and abundance. She is a frequent public speaker and hosts a radio show on Future Trends in Africa and what this means for citizens. Dr Phillips holds Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) and MBA degrees from the University of Cape Town and a Diploma in Futures Studies from the University of Stellenbosch. She has also studied International Economics at Copenhagen Business School and Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in Baltimore.

DR FRANCI CRONJÉ

Dr Franci Cronjé is a Cape Town-based educator, researcher, and an academic with a doctorate in Media Studies, and two master’s degrees in Fine Art, and Teaching &

Learning in Higher Education (Cum Laude). She has a passion for learning, research, and academic writing. Dr Cronjé has a wide range of management experience, particularly in the creative industries. Her experience and creative skillsets, combined with her educational studies in creativity, youth identity, research methodologies, and critical studies, effectively enable her to apply practical knowledge of the arts to teaching and learning management on a practical- and theoretical level.
