The purpose of the study is to investigate the needs of the youth in Folweni Township, KZN to achieve a sustainable environment. It is still through empowering the young that South Africa can ensure a better life for the population at the grassroots level. Through the youth commission, the government must take into account the development of young people as a category in society.
Economic growth, job creation and preservation of the quality of life and the environment require continuous development of citizens and, in my opinion, especially of young people. To investigate the needs of the youth of Folweni in the field of education, training and skills development;.
RESEARCHI CRITICAL QUESTIONS
RATIONALE FOR THE STUDY
About 72% of young people participating in the CASE study (2000) had their first child when they were younger than 20 years old. Thus teenage pregnancy is considered one of the main problems in this field (personal communication). Research shows that 79% of young people are more likely to be single and 6% live with a partner.
Because youth make up a greater percentage of the community in South Africa, their development means that a greater percentage of the South African community will develop. It is envisaged that exploring and highlighting the needs of the youth of Folweni would encourage public and private investment to implement programs that will improve the status of the youth in the area.

Youth development must be contextual and meet the needs of local communities, in this case young people. Eliminating the causes of these challenges would be one of the ways of youth development. Social movements can thus play a role in the implementation of government policies and strategies.
The development and coordination of the National Youth Policy, like the formulation of other policies, is based on the needs of the youth (the people). According to the CASE, young people in South Africa have a matric as their maximum qualification. According to the National Youth Policy, youth training programs have so far only affected a relatively small percentage of eligible out-of-school youth.
Youth development is one of the main challenges for maintaining a better quality of life for all people in the country.

CONCLUSION
Introduction
Demographics o Youth
The statistics are important because they indicate that the majority of young people are economically inactive. This therefore means that the rate of young people not engaged in school will increase if there is no intervention, increasing the challenges faced by young people in this area. Lack of resources and pregnancy seem to be the main reasons why young people drop out of school (do not continue their studies).
Other reasons for dropping out of further studies include alcohol and drug abuse, too many failures, the need to work, unemployed graduates (Figure 4). According to the collected data, the highest qualification of 40% of young people is secondary school, 26% primary school and 3% tertiary (Figure 5).

They thought that training young people would change young people's attitudes towards life. Almost 40% of young people thought that a library should be built in this area so that young people are encouraged to learn. They felt that one of the reasons they fail is that parents don't have the money to take them to libraries when they have schoolwork.
They believed that one of the reasons why young people could not 'earn' money was teenage pregnancy and health problems. They believed that the youth should be developed in order to improve their economic situation. They felt that one of the reasons why the fortunes of this country are not improving is that there is no work (employment) for the youth.
The young people believed that health care had an important role to play in treating people who abuse drugs. They felt that most youth in the area do not want to get proper education and therefore are not employable. The youth believed that dropping out of school and lack of money are one of the reasons why young people find themselves without jobs.
They believed that both youth and adults in the community needed economic development. They believed that the health problems affecting young people in Folwena were degrading the standard of living in the area. Young people also felt that their peers should be constantly reminded that AIDS kills.
The Role of stakeholders in Sustainable Development of the youth of Folweni
- Sports and Recreation o Youth
- Education and training o Youth
The young people believed that schools should make it a point to make health issues part of their curriculum, especially in primary schools. The participants believed that since teenage pregnancy is one of the major challenges for the area's youth, awareness programs must be implemented so that the younger children do not fall into the same trap of being young, pregnant and without a future. The young people felt that the councilors could start by showing an interest in the community programs.
The youth felt that the councilors could also play a major role in raising funds for the programs. Some participants felt that although educating the children is the responsibility of the parents, most parents do not play their role in this endeavor. They believed that parents should check youth's schoolwork often so that youth no longer have to avoid school.
They also believed that parents should be willing to pay school fees and provide students with all the necessary things so that students do not drop out of school. They believed that the teachers should start by liking what they (the teachers) are doing so that it will not affect them (the young people). Youth felt that since churches are places where most of the youth meet, it is important for churches to also provide motivational speeches and careers.
Youth therefore felt that councilors should start listening to what the youth want rather than pretending that the youth do not exist. Most young people felt that the police force was one sector that was not doing enough at all. The youth therefore felt that the police force should come out with strategies and work with the youth to get rid of the criminals.

Participants felt that regardless of the economic status of the person, crime is just crime and should not be condoned. Some participants felt that direction on the part of the youth would ensure that the youth do not commit crime. Furthermore, the purpose of development is to raise the standard of living of the masses.
The survey has so far identified the needs of the youth in Folweni so that strategies can be implemented to raise their standard of living. First, it supports the establishment of the social movements as a strategy to implement programs for youth development, and second, it provides recommendations for the strategies that can be implemented to correct the challenges in the field. This has great significance for the future of young people in the area and the country as a whole.
These challenges have a major impact on the quality of life of the community in Folweni and the country as a whole. The findings of the research clearly show that there are major problems in the area that interfere with the sustainable development of the area and the community that lives in the area. There is therefore an urgent need to intervene in order to redevelop the status quo of the area.
Structures must be created in society for the development of young people by making them familiar with the governments' strategies for developing young people. The analysis showed that the participants saw education as one of the strategies that could lead to economic activity among young people. Since the participants see education as one of the major challenges, there is a need for quick action to ensure effective schooling in the area.

CONCLUSION
For sustainability, we need to come together and develop the youth so that they can be economically active. Communities must therefore make sufficient efforts to win back the endangered youth and avoid future 'repairs' and environmental degradation in any way. The challenge is to take the initiative to implement the views and needs of the youth in the area.
It is necessary for young people to take the lead in the effort, especially because they understand what they want. Youth should lead youth development and actively participate in government decision-making through relevant structures, e.g. They should try to look at the effects of globalization in their lives and in the economy of the county.
Youth should evaluate the impact of the current economic system (GEAR) on the lives of youth in the country.
