PROBLEM-SOLVING
BY RAMUIMA KHAMUSI AFRICA
Problem solved!!
1.Identify the problem
• First thing that must be done is to investigate and identify a problem.
• An individual or a group involved in solving a problem must really look on what's causing the difficulties.
• After finding ‘what are the difficulties’ a group must have an agreement related to the problem, if they can’t live with it ,more explanations, discussions, comprehending each other’s point of view are required.
• Know that problem might be bigger ,but you need to break it into smaller pieces
• Once the problem is found ,must be noted down and make a short statement of it.
• STAR and PDSA are also good on solving the problem.
2.Explore information and create ideas
• On this step the problem is found, analyse it to see what was the cause.
• The key here is to focus on everyone’s effort when analysing the problem.
• First find more information about the problem and its cause.
• Once the cause if found, an individual or a group must now start to make plans of how to fix it.
3.Select the idea which is the best one
• Now the problem has found ,an individual/group can now begin to develop solutions that are possible.
• Solutions suggested by your group members or yourself as an individual remember that all of them are correct nothing is wrong.
• Causes of the problem can be multiple, but there is one which is the most common and which plays a big role on a particular problem.
• Solutions are identified in this step ,but the important thing is to select the BEST IDEA.
4.Build and test the idea
• Now the best idea is found, it has to be tested whether it is working or not.
• The group or individual should practice the solution. And detect its weakness and strength.
• If there are some weaknesses, there are going to be some adjustments and eliminations

5.Evaluate the process
• This stage you have to find out if the solution work properly or not.
• And if something went wrong ,ask yourself questions such as.
• Why not?
• What went wrong?
• What went right?
• Where do you have to adjust to make the solution work much better.
6.Problem solved
6.Problem solved
• Adjustments and eliminations are made and now things are now going well this means that
The problem is now solved
• Now you can and rest.
Conclusion
• The six steps problem-solving can help you to solve your problem immediately only if you follow its steps at a time.
• it provided us with some useful methods such as STAR and PDSA, which also help to solve the problem.
