Mr. I. H. Harris, Principal of the Jewish Government School, Johannesburg, is leaving on Satur- day evening from Park Station for Lourenco Marques and will sail on Monday by the s.s. Llanstephan Castle on a visit to Europe and Palestine. Mrs. I. H. Harris is leaving on the 30th inst. from Capetown on the s.s. Winchester Castle on a visit to England, where she will be j<Mned by Mr. Harris.

The marriage of Dr. Bernard Berger, of Johannesburg, and Miss Ginnie Krausey, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. H. Krausey, Parktown, Johannesburg, is to take place in the W olmarans Street Synagogue on Wednesday, July 5, at 7 p.m. A reception will subsequently be held at the City Hall.
The engagement is announced of Minnie, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Galasko, and cousin of Mrs. A. Rankow, to Mannie, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Gordon.

Dr. Leon Bramson arrived in Johannesburg to-day and is stay- ing at the Carlton Hotel. The visitor is Chairman of the United Committee of the Ort-Ozee Emig- direct, and he has come to South Africa in the interests of this organisation.
On July 4 at 7.15 p.m., at the W olmarans Street Synagogue, Johannesburg, the marriage will take place of Pauline, daughter of Mrs. S. Blankfield, to Mr. H.
Smith.

The marriage took place on the 18th inst. of Florrie Finkelstein, daughter of Mr. Elias Finkelstein, to Julius Segal, only son of Mr. N. Segal, at the Wol- marans Street Synagogue, Johannes- burg. The Chief Rabbi, the Rev. Dr. J. L.
Landau, officiated, assisted by Cantor S.
Inspektor.
The bric.le, who was given away by her father, was attended by Miss Zena Finkelstein, the maid of honour, and the Misses Betty Levin, Miriam Nathan, Rita Weisholtz, Rose Bigelman and Lean Miller, were bridesmaids. Maureen Cooper and Daphne Roseman, cousins of the bri<le, were the flower girls. Ernest Brauer, cousin of the bride, was the page boy, and Mr. Maurice Finkelstein, brother of the bride, was the best man.
The canopy-bearers were Mr. Ivan Gillan, Mr. Cecil Cooper, Mr. Jack Fin- kelstein and l\!Ir. Harry Rostovsky. Six hundred guests were present at the re- ception in the H.O.D. Hall, and the toa~t
of honour ·was proposed by Mr. Maurice Finkelstein.
Johannesburg Women's Zionist League
The next literary meeting of the above League will take place at the Langham Hotel on Tuesday next at 3 p.m. Mr. David Dainow will speak on " The Present Position of the Synagogue in South Africa,"
and Mrs. Kate Gluckmann will give a report of the recently held conf ere nee in Kimberley. All Jew- ish ladies interested are cordially invited to attend.

There was a large gathering at the Yeoville Synagogue, Hunter Street, Johannesburg, on the 18th inst., for the wedding of Rose Cecile, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Brasch, to Mr.
Harry Lurie, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Lurie, of Port Elizabeth. The ceremony was performe<l by the Rev.
A. T. Shrock, assisted by the Rev. N.
Lopato, and the best man was Mr. Solly Lurie, brother of the bridegroom, and Mr. Ha1·old Frenkel was groomsman.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was attended by a maid of honour, her sister, Miss Gladys Brasch, and two bridesmaids, Miss Mavis Aronson and Miss Ruth John on. The flower girls were Shirley Lurie, Olga Marx and Nesta Hillman.

dance arranged by the Kensing·- ton Branch of the Johannesburg Women's Zionist League, to take place at the Selborne Hall on Saturday, the24~h inst., promises to be a most enjoy- able function. Alec Benjamin's Personal Orchestra will supply the music. Tickets, which are 7s. 6cl. double, can be ob- tained from Mrs. S. Bloom, 'phone 24- 3710.
