BAB V SIMPULAN DAN REKOMENDASI

B. Rekomendasi

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, rekomendasi untuk guru Bimbingan dan Konseling, peneliti selanjutnya adalah:

1. Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Konseling Rasional Emotif Perilaku efektif untuk meningkatkan self-esteem siswa. Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling dapat menggunakan pendekatan Rasional Emotif Perilaku untuk meningkatkan self-esteem siswa. Dalam pelaksanaan intervensi ada beberapa hal yang perlu diperhatikan oleh guru Bimbingan dan Konseling, antara lain:

a. Pelaksana intervensi yang belum mendapatkan lisensi sebagai konselor (sudah menempuh program profesi konselor) dapat melakukan konsultasi secara intensif kepada konselor untuk setiap sesi konseling. b. Waktu atau jam pemberian intervensi menjadi salah satu pertimbangan

yang harus diperhatikan karena berkaitan dengan kondisi psikologis konseli. Kondisi fisik konseli berpengaruh terhadap keefektifan proses konseling.

c. Dalam membangun hubungan baik dengan konseli diperlukan kesabaran dari pelaksana intervensi. Ketika konseli belum merasa nyaman dengan keberadaan fasilitator maka konseli cenderung tertutup terhadap permasalahannya.

d. Penggunaan Konseling Rasional Emotif Perilaku cocok untuk karakteristik konseli yang aktif dan terbuka.

2. Peneliti Selanjutnya

Peneliti selanjutnya ketika menggunakan Konseling Rasional Emotif Perilaku sebagai salah satu pendekatan untuk membantu permasalahan konseli hendaknya memperhatikan beberapa hal, antara lain: a. Rancangan intervensi yang dijadikan sebagai dasar pemberian bantuan

hendaknya dirancang untuk masing-masing subjek penelitian berdasarkan karakteristik masalah yang dihadapi konseli karena satu rancangan intervensi kurang optimal jika digeneralisasikan untuk empat subjek penelitian.

b. Instrumen yang diberikan kepada konseli di setiap akhir sesi konseling hendaknya dilakukan pengacakan item pernyataan untuk menghindari kebosanan konseli dalam mengisi dan untuk menghindari bias keakuratan data.
