B. SARAN

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan keterbatasan-keterbatasan yang ada dalam penelitian ini, saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya yaitu:

1. Suatu penelitian dapat digeneralisasi apabila sampel yang diambil cukup representatif. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat menambah jumlah responden dan menggunakan teknik random sampling agar sampel yang didapatkan semakin mampu merepresentasikan populasi.

2. Hubungan antara contingent self-esteem dan presentasi diri seksual online yang lemah memberikan peluang bagi penelitian selanjutnya untuk menelusuri lebih lanjut tipe-tipe self-esteem lain atau faktor lain yang berkontribusi terhadap munculnya presentasi diri seksual online.

3. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat menggunakan desain analisis lain untuk memperjelas hubungan antara presentasi diri seksual online dan contingent self-esteem.

4. Penelitian selanjutnya juga dapat meneliti perilaku-perilaku lain dengan meninjau baik dari sisi tingkat self-esteem dan sifat kontingensinya agar mendapatkan gambaran yang lebih komprehensif mengenai efek dari self- esteem terhadap suatu perilaku.

5. Secara tidak langsung, penelitian ini semakin mempertegas kelemahan- kelemahan praktis dan teoretis dari self-esteem. Diharapkan agar selanjutnya self-esteem tidak hanya dilihat sebagai perasaan positif terhadap diri semata. Selain tingkatnya, stabil atau tidaknya self-esteem juga perlu mendapatkan perhatian dalam upaya intervensi.

6. Agar hasil penelitian dapat tersampaikan pada masyarakat, khususnya praktisi, maka peneliti selanjutnya dapat memuat hasil penelitian ke dalam jurnal ilmiah atau media lain yang memungkinkan masyarakat untuk mengakses hasil penelitian tersebut.
