5.2. Saran
1. Prevalensi penderita kanker paru hanya dapat diturunkan dengan cara bebas
merokok, maka perlu ditingkatkan upaya-upaya yang bertujuan agar individu yang sudah merokok segera berhenti merokok dan pada individu yang belum merokok agar tidak memulai merokok, mencegah merokok seharusnya menjadi fokus utama penyuluhan dimasyarakat, baik masyarakat umum, di sekolah mulai dari tingkat TK sampai perguruan tinggi
2. Dinas kesehatan Propinsi dan Pusat, Pemerintah dan Rumah sakit, agar saling
bekerja sama mengkampanyekan tidak merokok sehingga masyarakat tidak membahayakan kesehatan diri mereka dan sekitar lingkungan keluarga, bahaya rokok dan dampak rokok terhadap lingkungan keluarga.
3. Rumah sakit Haji Adam Malik harus bebas asap rokok di lingkungan rumah sakit,
jika dokter atau petugas kesehatan lainnya, pasien maupun keluarga pasien terlihat merokok akan dikenakan dende, sehingga RS HAM bebas asap rokok.
4. Setiap rumah sakit rujukan hendaknya dilengkapi sarana dan prasarana terutama
untuk penegakkan diagnosis kanker paru seperti aksesoris bronkoskopi TBNA, sikatan dan EBUS TBNA maupun high resolution CT scan toraks sehingga dapat meningkatkan ketepatan diagnosis kanker paru, dan pada patologi anatomi agar melengkapi imunohistokimia sehingga sel kanker paru lebih akurat
5. Keterbatasan pada penelitian ini tidak memfollow up perkembangan survival rate
survival rate, penelitian berikutnya akan lebih mendalami tentang pengobatan kemoterapi, radioterapi dan pembedahan dan survival rate.
