5.2. Saran

Setelah melakukan penelitian dan presentasi melalui seminar penulis mendapatkan berbagai saran dari pihak yang telah melihat perancangan aplikasi ini, salah satunya adalah

1. Dalam pembuatan metodelogi penelitian waterfall sebaiknya bisa dituangkan dalam tekhnik dan tools yang digunakan untuk hal-hal ilmiah dan analisis yang lebih dalam.

2. Dalam penulisan dan pembahasan aplikasi hendaknya lebih difokuskan lagi sehingga pembaca yang melihat akan lebih mengambil ke sisi teknologi bukan sisi komersial dari T-Commerce tersebut.

ANALISIS KUEISIONER

Berdasarkan hasil kueisioner yang telah disebar oleh penulis melalui email selama 2 minggu, didapatkan 15 responden.

Dari 15 responden yang menjawab kueisioner terlihat bahwa sekitar 80% atau 12 responden adalah wanita.

5 pertanyaan kueisioner berikutnya adalah pertanyaan umum seputar aplikasi. Dari 15 responden yang menjawab kueisioner terlihat banyak yang menjawab “A” dimana pada kueisioner jawaban A adalah “Ya”. Melihat hasil dari grafik batang diatas, terlihat bahwa sebagian besar responden mengenal aplikasi yang dibuat oleh penulis.

ABSTRACT

The rapid development of digital technology that delivers contribution of telecommunications and broadcasting convergence in the field of information, enabling high-quality broadcast TV can be enjoyed with a variety of devices. Digital television or DVT is a type of television that uses a digital signal and compression system to broadcast the image signal, voice and data.

DVB-T or Digital Television Broadcasting Terrestial is one of the digital TV standard used in the European continent in the adaptation by Indonesia because of several advantages, mainly because of reliability DVB-T which is capable of transmitting large amounts of data at high speed point-to-point.

In the receiver, digital receiver system takes the form of Set-top Box (STB) whose function is to receive DVB-T modulation signal and process it so that broadcasts can be viewed through a regular television. In DVB-T there is a middleware that enables an application with standard MHP (Multimedia Home Platform) can run when broadcast TV goes. MHP makes digital TV broadcasts become more interactive MHP middleware application examples are information services, games, interactive voting, email, SMS or shopping. In the MHP set-top box has several applications that allow two-way application, the application disebur return channel. To use the return channel, it takes internet access with xDSL, cable modem or wireless.

CHAP I INTRODUCTION

1.1.Background

Television (TV) as the medium of an efficient means of delivering information and much in use in Indonesia and other countries as well. Nowadays the TV population of not less than 40 million units, with the number of users more than 200 million people. With increasing technological development,

convergence in the broadcasting world is the move that was originally broadcast TV using analog signals with digital signals slowly. As a user of enough TV, Indonesia has the potential in the technology industry and Digital TV. It can be seen by the number penguna Digital pay TV in Indonesia. Indonesia began to use a lot of digital pay-TV service in 2008 with the number of users as many as 700,000 users and growing until the year 2011 recorded the number of users as much as 1.2 million people.

DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) is a system used to transmit digital TV broadcasts up to the end-user. With digital technology, DVB can use a more efficient use of bandwidth. Besides the addition of a TV channel capacity, the terrestrial transmission media can be obtained better image quality and even the media cable TV, DVB-C offers two-way interaction.

Since May 2008 BPPT began to prepare the migration of broadcast transmitters and analog to digital television devices are targeted to be selasai in 2015. By taking a random sample “an effective way of shopping” that can make TV more interactive functions, the author is interested in helping BPPT to developing digital TV broadcasts by lifting the title " Design T-Commerce an Application with Return Channel on Middleware System for Digital TV DVB-T

Based on the background taken by the author, then the problem can be formulated as follows:

Given the new digital TV is being developed and will continue to evolve, the authors limit the problem in this thesis as follows:

1. Content creation for E-Commerce application that product information via the TV.

2. Return Channel that will be inserted is a tele-shopping TV poll of the product. 3. The method used is SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) 4. Programming language for interactive TV used the Java language

CHAP II BASIS OF THEORY

2.1.Definition Television

Television is a medium of communication is known as a broadcast receiver moving images with sound both black and white (monochrom) or colored. The word "television" is a combination of the word "tele" (Greek) meaning "distant" and "visio" (in Latin) which means vision. TV broadcasting is usually transmitted by the channel UHF (Ultra High Frequency) and VHF (Very High Frequency). Broadcast TV was originally recorded and transmitted in analog waveforms, but this kebelakangan public and private broadcasting companies are now switching to digital television technology. a. Digital Television

Digital television or DVT is a type of television that uses broadcast with digital signals and signal compression system to broadcast images, voice and data to the television. Digital TV broadcasts are transmitted digital signal (digital broadcasting). Digital TV has broadcast the results of image quality and color much better than analog television produced.

b. DVB-T (Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting)

DVB-T or Digital Television Broadcasting Terrestial is one of the digital TV standard used in the European continent in the adaptation by Indonesia because of several advantages, mainly because of reliability DVB-T which is capable of transmitting large amounts of data at high speed point-to-point.

DVB-T system has a high resistance to various disorders caused by bad channel conditions in the presence of noise, the trajectory plural, and the received power variation due to fading. DVB-T can also be implemented in SFN mode (single frequency network) in which an operator can install multiple transmitters with the same frequency spread in an area with a view to expanding and improving the quality of coverage without the need to increase the frequency.

c. MHP

MHP or Multimedia Home Platform is a middleware system standard designed specifically for DVB as interactive applications on digital TV. MHP to receive and execute interactive digital TV by using Java. Interactive TV applications can be delivered through broadcast channels along with pictures and video streaming. MHP middleware application examples are information

services, games, interactive voting, email, SMS or shopping (The MHP Knowledge Project: 2006)

d. Return Channel

Set-top-box MHP has several other applications that allow two-way interaction, such as voting or shopping application. This application is called Return channel. To use the return channel, it takes internet access with xDSL, cable

modem or wireless. In DVB-T standard called DVB-Return

Channel RCTs provide a refund of users access to a TV in the house back to the Digital TV service providers.

e. MPGE-2

MPEG-2 is one of the standard digital video broadcasting (DVB). MPGE-2 is the result of a combination of video and sound are lossy compressed. MPEG-2 is used as a digital TV signal format emitted by terrestrial (over the air), cable or directly from the satellite. MPEG-2 is also used for the video format used on DVDs.

2.2. Internet

The Internet is a collection of millions of computers worldwide are connected between each other. Literally, the Internet is a global system of the entire network of computers connected together using the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP / IP) to serve billions of

economic development. Various transactions that previously could only be done by way of face to face (and some very small by mail or telephone), is now very easy and often done through the Internet. Transactions over the Internet is known as e-commerce.

a. E-Commerce

Electronic Commerce or Electronic Commoerce or E-Business is the process of buying and selling of goods, services and information electronically. Some people see the terms of trade (commerce) is described only as a transaction among business associates. But in fact, E-Commerce is not only selling but also communication, collaboration and discovery information electronically. An example is the e-Learning. E-Shopping and e-Government.

b. T-Commerce

T-Commerce are one example of interactive TV which can make buying and selling between producers and consumers through a tv that has been linked with jariangan internet or IPTV. T-Commerce applications are one example of how to utilize modern digital media to achieve a profit (Catherine M. Skelly: 200). The use of traditional methods such as TV ads are usually easily forgotten, especially if the ad is not attractive. Hence comes the idea that manufacturers can utilize the application of digital media to connect with consumers.

2.3. Software Developer a. iCareus

Middleware t-commerce and Return Channel can be created using a software called I-careus. Users can create or design the entire middleware with ease even though the user does not have the capability of programming, here the user more than the bet with the design of the program.

b. Java and Netbeans

Java

Java is a programming language that can run on different computers or mobile phones are also HP. These languages are adopting syntactic language contained in C and C + + but with a simpler syntax. Java-based applications typically compiled into bytecode and can run on different Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Java is a programming language that is general / non-specific (general purpose), and is specifically designed to utilize

minimal implementation dependencies. Because the functionality that allows Java applications can run on several different operating system platforms.

• Netbeans

Netbeans is a Java desktop platform for applications and tools for software development or Java IDE (Intergrared development environment) with Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python. Ruby, Groovy, C, C + + and others. Netbeans IDE written in Java programming language da can be run anywhere if there is a JVM (Java Virtual Machine) in both the Windows OS, Mac OS, Linux and Solaris.

JDK or Java Development Kit is required for the development of Java functionality but is not required for the development of other

programming languages.

c. Adobe Photoshop CS3

Adobe Photoshop is one of the software to edit photos or images. Photoshop is widely used by digital photographers and advertising companies that considered the market leader (market leader) for image processing software / photos, and, along with Adobe Acrobat, regarded as the best product ever produced by Adobe Systems.

Eighth version of this application is called by the name of Photoshop CS (Creative Suite), version called Adobe Photoshop CS2 nine, ten version called Adobe Photoshop CS3, is the eleventh version of Adobe Photoshop CS4 and version of the last (twelfth) is Adobe Photoshop CS5.

Photoshop is available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Mac OS; version 9 upwards can also be used by other operating systems such as Linux using software such as CrossOver Office.
