5.2 Saran
Sebagai penutup dari penelitian terhadap film ‘All the Bright Places’, Peneliti merasa perlu memberikan masukan untuk penelitian selanjutnya sehingga dapat menjadi lebih baik dibandingkan penelitian ini, Adapun saran dari peneliti sebagai berikut:
1. Saran Akademis
a. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode yang sama dengan objek penelitian yang berbeda. Penelitian selanjutnya juga bisa mengkaji lebih jauh mengenai penggambaran dan persepsi gangguan mental seperti gangguan bipolar pada bentuk media lainnya.
b. Pemaknaan denotasi, konotasi dan mitos memiliki potensi interpretasi berbagai cara pandang yang berbeda, sehingga peneliti merasa ada beberapa hal yang dapat lebih ditingkatkan dengan menggunakan lebih banyak referensi mengenai gangguan bipolar dan juga media.
2. Saran Praktis
Peneliti menyarankan untuk pembuat film yang ingin menggambarkan seseorang dengan gangguan mental untuk melakukan banyak riset, dan
menggambarkan gangguan mental secara akurat dan mengurangi stereotipe atau stigma yang mungkin bisa berdampak negatif.
Penelitian ini juga menyarankan penonton untuk lebih terbuka dan senantiasa lebih berempati pada mereka yang mengalami gangguan mental.
