4. The Diploma of Education shall be awarded to a candidate who has—
(a) (i) graduated with an approved degree from a Victorian university or other approved university or institution; or
(ii) graduated with an approved four-year diploma or (iii) obtained a qualification or qualifications which
for the purpose of this regulation are approved as at least equivalent to those set forth in paragraphs (i) and (ii) of this sub-clause;
and
(b) completed successfully at a teachers' college or other institution approved by the Governor in Council for the training of teachers, the course of study prescribed in clause 2 of this regulation.
5. Each candidate who has passed the prescribed examin- ations and otherwise fulfilled the foregoing conditions shall qualify for the Diploma of Education and shall be issued with an appropriate certificate authorised by the Director-General.
Trained Trained Technical Teacher's Certificate (T.T.T.C.), awarded Technical under Regulation XXXIII(O1—Education Dept. Regulations.
Teacher's This award will be recommended for diplomates holding Certificate 2-year post-Form VI, 3-year post-Form V, or 4-year post-
Form IV diplomas, or approved equivalent qualifications, together with approved industrial experience (2 years for men, 1 year for women.)
REGULATION XXXIII(0)—TRAINED TECHNICAL TEACHER'S CERTIFICATE
1. In this regulation unless inconsistent with the context or subject-matter "approved" means approved by the Director.
2. The Trained Technical Teacher's Certificate shall be granted to a candidate who—
(i) has completed successfully an approved technical school diploma course or a course approved as an equivalent;
(ii) has completed to the satisfaction of the Director two years' approved industrial experience or, in the case of a woman, who has completed a diploma course involving a minimum of four years' study after completing the intermediate Technical Certificate course one year's approved industrial experience or in either case holds an approved qualification;
(iii) has completed successfully at an institution
approved by the Governor in Council for the training of teachers an approved course of training in teaching.
Trained Trade Trained Trade Instructor's Certificate (T.Tr.I.C.), awarded Instructor's under Regulation XXX I I I (P)—Education Dept. Regulations.
Certificate This award will be recommended for those holding the Certificate of Proficiency of the Apprenticeship Commission of Victoria, or an approved equivalent, together with five years approved post-apprenticeship experience.
REGULATION XXXIII(P)—TRAINED TRADE INSTRUCTOR'S CERTIFICATE.
1. In this regulation unless inconsistent with the context or subject-matter "approved" means approved by the Director.
2. The Trained Trade Instructor's Certificate shall be granted to a candidate who—
(i) has completed an approved trade or craft course in a technical school or other approved institution;
(ii) has had at least five years' approved trade experience;
and
(iii) has completed successfully at an institution approved by the Governor in Council for the training of teachers an approved course in the Principles of Education and the Practice of Teaching.
To have "completed an approved trade or craft course in a technical school or other approved institution" as required by Regulation XXXIII(P), a candidate must normally have qualified for the Certificate of Proficiency of the
Apprenticeship Commission of Victoria or for an equival- ent qualification. Further, the required "five years'
approved trade experience" must have been gained after the completion of apprenticeship, in the trade in which the candidate was trained.
Trained Trained Technician Instructor's Certificate (T.Tech.I.C.), Technician awarded under Regulation XXXIII(Q)—Education Dept.
Instructor's Regulations.
Certificate
This award will be recommended for middle-level teachers who hold approved diplomas together with approved industrial experience, or approved Certificates of Tech- nology, or approved equivalent qualification, together with at least six years' approved industrial experience.
REGULATION XXXIII(Q)—TRAINED TECHNICIAN INSTRUCTOR'S CERTIFICATE.
1. In this regulation unless inconsistent with the context or subject matter-
AWARDS
(i) "approved" means approved by the Director-General.
(ii) "Form VI" means the form in a State secondary school or a State technical school or other approved educational institution which takes the sixth year of the course of study of a State secondary school or a State technical school or a course of study which in the opinion of the Director-General is equivalent to the sixth year in a State secondary school or a State technical school.
2. The Trained Technician Instructor's Certificate shall be granted to a candidate who—
(i) has completed an approved certificate course in a technical school or other approved educational institution and has passed in Mathematics and either Science or Applied Science at Form VI standard if such subjects are not already included in the approved certificate course;
and
(ii) has had approved industrial experience;
and
(iii) has completed successfully at an institution approved by the Governor in Council for the training of teachers, an approved course of training in teaching.
Trained Trained Secondary Teacher's Certificate (T.S.T.C.), awarded Secondary under Regulation XXXIII(J1—Education Dept. Regulations.
Teacher's
Certificate This award is generally recommended for those who whilst not fully meeting the requirements for the award of the T.T.T.C., hold qualifications which are at least equivalent to two years of approved full-time tertiary academic study.
REGULATION XXXIII(J)—TRAINED SECONDARY TEACHER'S CERTIFICATE.
1. In this regulation unless inconsistent with the context of subject-matter "approved" means approved by the Director.
2. The Trained Secondary Teacher's Certificate shall be granted to a candidate who—
(i) has qualified for matriculation at a Victorian university or holds a qualification approved as equivalent or higher.
and
(ii) has completed successfully at an approved teacher's college the course prescribed in clause 3 of this regulation.
3. (a) The subjects and requirements of the course mentioned in paragraph (ii) of clause 2 of this regul- ation shall be arranged in two groups (group A and group B) and to complete the course successfully candidates shall pass in six subjects previously approved in group A and in all the subjects and requirements in group B.
(b) The groups of subjects mentioned in sub-clause (a) of this clause shall be:—
Group A
(approved subjects at post-matriculation level) Group B
(i) approved studies in the foundations, principles, methods and practices of education and programmes in basic teaching skills;
and
(ii) approved school experience under the supervision of approved teachers.
Approved Course Approved Course of Teacher Training Statement (A.C.T.T.).
of Teacher
Training This statement certifies that the student has successfully completed "an approved course of teacher training": it is provided by the College, under the authority of the Educat- ion Department, to those whose qualifications do not fully comply with the conditions established for the award of any of the above certificates.
Except in the cases of the Diploma of Education, and the Trained Secondary Teacher's Certificate, any teacher who has passed the teacher training course for any of the other certificates mentioned above and who subsequently completes the required qualifications and industrial or trade experience may apply to the College for the award of the appropriate certificate.
