NEDERMAN'S TWO-STAGE ELECTROSTATIC FILTER The latest Nederman electrostatic filter, in its mobile version, is a most effective method of pollution and fume control within the factory workshop area
The two-stage filter system removes 99.9% of particles and ensures a safe working area The efficiency of the sys- tem ensures that clean air can safely be returned to the factory space with no loss of internal heating or cooling par- ticularly useful in winter.
The extremely large collection sur- face on the collector plates ensures long operation between cleaning of filters.
Anautomatic warning both by light and audible signal tells when filter cleaning is required Should this be ignored the fan will cutout immediately. Filters can be cleaned easily with water and detergent
The mobile electrostatic filter is fit- ted with large wheels and an extendable fume extraction arm which has infinitely variable positions, plus a powerful worklight inside the extrac- tion hood
The unit has a large removable plas- tic tray which collects large particles or oil if it has been used for operations developing oil mist

gases. Designated the Model 100-T
"Smart" Sensor, it uses advanced design, which dramatically reduces installation and operating costs while increasing reliability.
Using new generation sensors and low operating current, that allows thin- ner gauge wire to be run over greater distances, the 100-T out-performs other combustible sensors, even at locations more than a kilometre from the control unit
Two types are available. The Model 100-T requires manual calibration in the field. The Model 100-TR provides for two solenoid valves to introduce zero and span gases, allowing an operator to set the calibration from a remote location.
The transmitter electronics and replaceable sensors are housed in a cast aluminium, explosion-proof junction box and, once installed, no main- tenance is required Power supply required is 24 VDC and signal transmission is 4 to 20 mA over the 0 to 100% LEL range.

NEW DIGITAL PLANIMETER CONNECTS TO EXTERNAL COMPUTER
Wild Leitz (Australia) Pty. Limited announce the release of a digitising planimeter offering, for the first time, the facility of transmitting the output to an external computer.
Planix 5000, made by Tamaya, Japan, is a development of the popular Planix 7 series of digitising planimeters, with the ability to measure length as well as area, displaying the output on a built-in LCD display panel.
An important feature of the new instrument is that it has a built-in output port, enabling the X-Y co-ordinates of the measuring head to be transmitted continuously to external computers.
The Planix 5000 features POINT and STREAM modes, greatly sim- plifying the operation of the instrument
In POINT mode, there is no need to trace a straight line with precision. The operator simply plots the two end points of the line, and the built-in microp- rocessor does the rest
In STREAM mode, the operator traces the outline of curved lines.
Measurements of both lengths and area are displayed at the touch of a button.
Length can be measured with an accuracy better than ±(-.05 per cent; area to an accuracy better than ±0.1 per cent
In designing the Planix series of digitising planimeters, Tamaya has eliminated the conventional measuring/
integrating wheel, with its associated problems of slip and wear.
The Planix 5000 makes use of two high-precision rotary encoders, which generate the data to be processed by the built in microprocessor. The encoder rollers have special non-slip rings coated with a layer of very finely ground .diamonds, eliminating wear problems,
and guaranteeing a perfectly parallel and straight run on a flat surface.
The reliability and ease of the Planix 5000 are expected to extend the usage of planimeters into entirely new areas of measurement as well as receiving wide acceptance from the traditional survey, scientific, engineering and car- tography users.
Further information about the Planix 5000 may be obtained from any office of Wild Leitz (Australia) Pty. Limited For further information please con- tact: Mr. Gunther Birk, Manager, Marketing and Technical Support, Wild Leitz (Australia) Pty. L t d . P.O.
