THE Regulations dated 17th January, 1952, published in the Govern- ment Gazette of 19th January, 1952, and subsequently amended from time to time relating to oharges payable for accommodation and nursing attention for patients in hospitals to whim the pmvisions of the Hospitals Act 1936-1976 .apply are hereby amended as follows:-
Regulations 1, 2, 3, 4, 4A and 5 are repe'aled and the following Regulations inserted in their stead:-
1. (i) Patients shall be classified as foIlows:-
(a) Patients of private medical practitioners accommodated in a single room;
(b) Patients of private medical practitioners accommodated in other than a single room;
(c) Standard ward patients;
(d) Nursing-home type patients of private medical practitioners;
(c) ~ursing-'home type patients accommodated in standard wards.
(ii) (a) The charges that may be charged by Boards for patient accommodation and nursing services in respect of patients classified
(a), (b) and (c) shall be as follows:-

'patients classified (d) and (e)) No charge (b) The charges per day that may be charged by Boards for patient accommodation and nursing services in respect of patients classified (d) shall be an amount equal to the amount prescribed from time to time under the provisions of the Social Services Act 1947 of the Common- wealth, or any Act amending or in sLlbstitution for the said Act as the amount to be paid to the person controlling a benevolent home for the maintenance of an aged or invalid pensioner who is an inmate of such benevolent home and who is in receipt of the maximum rate of age or invalid pension prescribed by the said Social Services Act 1947, or any Act amending or in substitution for the said Act, plus an amount equivalent to either-
(a) the amount of Nursing Home Benefit and Supplementary Nursing Home Benefit for intensive Nursing Home Care; or (b) the amount of Commonwealth Pensioner Hospital Benefit
plus either the amount of additional Commonwealth- (i) Nursing Home Benefit; or
(ii) Nursing Home Fund Benefit;
as prescribed from time to time by the National Health Act 1953 of the Commonwealth, as shall be applicable.
(c) The charges that may be charged by Boards for nursing services in respect of patients classified (e) shall be an amount equal to the amounts prescribed from time to time under the provisions of the Social Services Act 1947 of the Commonwealth, or any Act amending or in substitution for the said Act as the amount to be paid to the person controlling a benevolent home for the maintenance of an age or invalid pensioner who is an inmate of such benevolent home and who is in receipt of the maximum rate of age or invalid pension prescribed by the said Social Services Act 1947, or any Act amending or in substitution for the said Act.
