COVER PICTURE The Sturt Pea (CUanthus formosus) is restricted to Australia and inhabits the dry interior extending from the north-west coast of W.A. to western New South Wales. It is m o s t commonly found i n red sandy soils especially be- tween Marble Bar and R o e b o u m e and to the north and east of Kal- goorlie. As one of t h e specimens originally col- lected by Dampicr i t was among the first Australian plants to reach Europe.
