COVER PICTURE The Salmon Gum (Euca- lyptus salmonophloia) is found over a large tract of country eastward of a line from Mullewa in the north, through Carnamah, Moora, Brookton and Wagin down to Gnowan- gerup. Its shining lan- ceolate leaves and yellow- ish-pink to almost white bark make it one of our most attractive wheatbelt trees, and its timber is extensively used for m i n - ing purposes. The tree attains a height of 75 ft.
