The law contains important provisions regarding voting by members of the armed forces (including members under twenty-one years of age) who are not enrolled. Provided that the Governor in Council may make arrangements with the Commonwealth Government for the appointment of an officer of the Commonwealth to perform the duties of the Chief Electoral Officer under this Act; and upon the appointment of such officer he shall perform such duties and shall be deemed to be the Chief Electoral Officer under this law. 2) (a) The Governor in Council may from time to time appoint one or more election registrars for each electoral district or, where an electoral district. is separate, for each of its divisions. Every presiding officer or polling officer, after making and signing such solemn declaration, shall forthwith transmit it to the returning officer of the district concerned.
Any such Order in Council shall specifically state the nature of the default, incompleteness or inaccuracy as aforesaid. The latest printed copies of each list shall be open to public inspection, free of charge, at such places within each constituency as the Chief Electoral Officer directs and shall be secured there on payment of the prescribed price.
Ballot-papers to be delivered to the Clerk of the Assem
Any such sealed package shall be kept safely in such room by the clerk for a period of two years after the date of its delivery to him. All means of access to such room, except one door, shall be securely fastened, and such door-shell shall be provided with two locks, each of a different pattern, the keys of which, except as required by s of this section, shall be kept in safe deposit at all times when the package is stored therein. 5) Within three months after the end of the period of two years specified in subsection before proceeding with such destruction. he shall give reasonable notice thereof to the Speaker, the Attorney-General, and the Leader of the Opposition, each of whom shall be entitled to be present there in person or by his representative, and to verify that all such sealed packages are then delivered. ~ t r ~ y e ~. 6) If at any time any question arises in connection with the votes purported to have been cast at any election, the ballots and declarations contained in such sealed packet shall be received in evidence in evidence of such votes in any court.
The Chairman may, having regard to the nature of the offense alleged, impose conditions in relation to the handling by the member or members of the Police Force of the declarations of the ballot papers, or other things presented to him or them by the authority as stated above.

The proceedings of the Tribunal shall and any party to the petition or reference may be. The judge may at the same time make a special report to the Speaker on any matter arising during the trial, for which, in his discretion, an account should be presented to the Assembly.
If, during the hearing of a petition, the court reports that, in relation to such an election, it has been proven that there has been an unlawful practice by or with the knowledge and consent of a candidate in such an election, that candidate may not be prosecuted. elected to or serving in the General Assembly for such district for a period of three years following the date of the report, and if elected, his election shall be void. Furthermore, he will be subject to the same incapacitation as if he had been convicted of such an unlawful practice on the date of the report. When considering the petition for withdrawal, any person who might have been a petitioner with respect to the election to which the petition relates may apply to the court to be replaced as petitioner by the petitioner who so desires to withdraw the petition. .
The withdrawal of a request does not affect the liability of the submitter for payment of previously incurred costs. If, before the hearing of an application, any of the following occurs in the case of the defendant, that is to say: All general rules and orders made in the aforesaid manner shall have the same force as if they were contained in the body of this Act would have been determined.

The list to be delivered by a returning officer to the Chief Electoral Officer of the names and addresses of all persons permitted to vote in accordance with section 3 5 ~ of the Act for the district of that returning officer is in accordance with Form 2c in the Annex. The form of public notice of nomination and voting days, place of nomination, and of the various polling stations shall be in accordance with Form 4 in the Schedule. The form of nomination of candidate for election, together with the consent of the person n o ~ i n a t e ~ and the certificate of the returning officer, shall be in accordance with the Form 5 in the Schedule.
The form of certificate with the return of a copy of the roll supplied to each presiding officer is in accordance with Form 10 in the Schedule. 2 ) The form of the ballot received by the voter who has completed the declaration and signed form 25 must be in accordance with form 27 in the form. 3 ) The form of declaration to be given by every such voter who registers on the said Form 26 to vote shall be in accordance with Form 26c in the list.
