An Act to amend the Inter-State Destitute Persons Relief Act, 1910-1943.
[Assented to 1st December, 1955.]
BE IT ENACTED by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as follows :
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the " Inter-State Destitute Persons Relief Act Amendment Act, 1955".
(2) The Inter-State Destitute Persons Relief Act, 1910-1943, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the" Inter-State Destitute Persons Relief Act, 1910-1955 ".
(2) The Inter-State Destitute Persons Relief Act, 1910-1943, is hereinafter referred to as " the principal Act".
2. This Act is incorporated with the principal Act and that Act and this Act shall be read as one Act.
3. Section 4 of the principal Act is amended-
(a) by inserting after the word "maintenance" in the eighth line of the definition of "order" therein the words "registered or" ;
(b) by striking out the word" mandate" in the fourth and tenth lines of the definition of " State" therein, and inserting in its place in each case the words
"trusteeship agreement, ~rust, mandate, or other like arrangement" ;

(c) by inserting at the end thereof the following subsection (the preceding portion of section 4 being read as subsection (1) thereof) :
(2) References in this Act to orders registered under the provisions of any Act reciprocal to the Imperial Act intituled the Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Act, 1920, shall be deemed to refer to orders registered under any such Act whether before or after the commence- ment of the Inter-State Destitute Persons Relief Act Amendment Act, 1955.
4. Section 6 of the principal Act is amended- Amendment princlpal Act, of

5. Section 7 of the principal Act is amended-

(d) by inserting after the word" made" in the sixth line of paragraph I. therein the words" or registered" . 10. Section 20 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after the word "made" in the second line of subsection (2) thereof the word " registered ".
11. Section 27a of the principal Act is amended by inserting after the word " order" in the second line thereof the words
" registered or " .
12. The first schedule to the principal Act is amended by striking out the word "confirmed" in the fifth line of paragraph 1 therein and inserting in its place the words "registered (or confirmed)" .
