An Act to amend the Adelaide University Acts, 1874 to

1923,

and to Validate the Conferring of certain Degrees by the University of Adelaide, and for other purposes.

E it Enacted by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as follows:

1.

(1) This Act may be cited as the" Adelaide University Act Short titles.

(2) The Adelaide Univel'sity Acts, 1874 to 192:3, and this Act may be cited together as the" Adelaide University Acts, 1~74 to 1924."

This Act is incorporated with the other .\cts mentioned in Incorporation with

section 1 of this Act, and those :\cts and this Act shall be read as other Acts.

(1) All persons heretofore admitted by the U ni versity to the degrees of Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Dental Science shall be deemed to have been lawfully admitted to those degrees, and the confen-iug of those degrees shall have the same force and effect as if the powers given to the University under section 3 of this Act had been given to the University before the admission of the said persons to the said degrees.

(2) All statutes and regulations heretofore made, altered, or repealed by the University with respect to the degrees of Bachelor of Dental S~Irgery and Doctol' of Dental Science shall be deemed to have been lawfully made, altered, or repealed, as the case may be, and shall have the same force and effect as if the powers given to the University under section 3 of this Act had been given before the said statutes and regulations were made, altered, 01'

repealed, as the case may be.

5.

The University shall have power to confer, alter examination, in addition to the degrees which under the provisions of the Adelaide University Acts, 187 -:l to 1923, and of section 3 of this Act the University has power to confer, such other degrees as the University by statute 01' regnlation may constitute; and it shall be lawful for the University to make such statutes and regulations as they deem fit for the admission, without examination, to any degree constituted as aforesaid of persons who have graduated at other Universities, and to admit such persons according to the statutes 01' regulations so made.

6.

Persons admitted hy the University to any degree constituted by the University by statute or regulation which is of the status of a Master 01' a Doctor shall. on admission thereto, become members of the Senate of the University.
