To be eligible to sign the matriculation list, candidates must have—. a) met the university's general admission requirements. Students must have met the university entry requirements of the Victorian Universities and Schools Examination Board. In addition, a special medical examination must be passed to ensure that the candidate is suitable to take the course. The selection committee for each course consists of the dean of the faculty or the chairman of the study board in question and such other members as may be approved by the professor board on the recommendation of the relevant faculty or study board.
If a member of a selection committee is unable to attend, the chairperson of the Council of Professors, on the recommendation of the dean of the faculty or the chairperson of the program committee concerned, may approve the appointment of a substitute. Provided the qualifications of applicants taking the Victorian H.S.C. Exam is as much as possible equal to the H.S.C. b) Selection committees may also take into account:. i) The results of any subsequent investigations. ii) The age of the candidates when attempting the exam in question. iii) Any illness, war or military service, or other serious cause, which, in the opinion of the committee, has hindered the study or functioning of an applicant. iv) Physical handicaps or infirmities. v) The number of years spent preparing for the Victorian Higher School Certificate Examination. All other factors approved by the Council of Professors and the Council on the advice of the relevant faculty or OC.
Juvenile candidates in the selection range must be interviewed by or on behalf of the relevant selection committee before being selected.
Special Principles of Selection, 1974
A selection committee will have the right to consider an applicant's record as a whole in deciding between candidates near the cut-off line. In the absence of special reasons, applicants for admission to a quota who have not yet undertaken a university course will be preferred over graduates. i) National servicemen applying for admission shall not receive less favorable treatment than they would have received had they sought admission at the appropriate time. Therefore, national servicemen applying for admission to courses with quotas must be assessed on exactly the same basis as they would have been in the year they began their training and given the same priority order as they would have been allocated in that year; . ii) national servicemen re-enrolling in an Australian university will not suffer any loss of academic status in respect of work completed prior to their period of national service training;. iii) the period when these concessions will apply is limited to two years.
Thus, to benefit from the concessions, students will have to apply to register or re-register immediately after completing their national service. The number of non-Victorian applicants admitted to any course should not normally exceed the average annual percentage of such students admitted to that course over the last three years. No non-Victorian applicant will be selected in preference to a Victorian applicant of equal or superior merit. means a student whose home is in another state or overseas and who has either sat for the Victorian Higher School Certificate Examination or has been admitted ad eundem status.
If an applicant is not selected for the course of his first choice, his application must be considered for his second course and, if necessary, the subsequent choice and he must be selected in preference to any other meritorious applicant academically inferior. According to the above principles, a merit list will be prepared and from this list the places will be filled up to the number determined by the Council. Places in the following year's quota may be reserved for such applicants and in such numbers as may be decided by the Faculty or Board of Studies in accordance with its principles of selection, on the understanding that the number shall not be large and that except in special cases. Circumstantial preference will be given to applicants in the top 80% of those whose grades are above the cut-off point for admission to the quota in question.
Once a student is admitted to a fixed course, that is one for which there is no alternative course, and unless later prevented by failure to continue the course, the University must provide the student with facilities to complete the course as planned. , if he so requests. a) Each applicant, in addition to the application for selection as a university student, must submit to the Selection Committee an application for selection in Physical Education. No application will be considered unless one of i) the applicant has completed the above form issued by the registrar; or. ii) The Selection Committee is satisfied that the applicant's failure to complete the information form must be justified.

Continuing Education Courses
Candidates for the diploma in Physical Education must continue their studies for two years after matriculation and pass the prescribed examinations. When enrolling students must quote the NUMBER as well as the name of the subject as listed below. Where in any year a candidate has passed only in some of the subjects of the Year, he is entitled to credit for such subjects.
In each of the subjects Body Mechanics, Preventive Work, Practical Exercises Part I and II, Teaching Practice and Observation Part I and II, candidates must participate in at least 75 percent of the teaching, except that candidates who produce to the satisfaction of the Board of Studies documentation of having completed it required practical work in the subjects Practical exercises part I and II and Teaching practice and observation part I and II in classes other than university classes can be credited for such subjects by passing an exam to the satisfaction of the board of studies on recommendation from the director of sports. A candidate who has fulfilled the requirements of this regulation and fulfilled the required conditions can be awarded the diploma in sports. A course in first aid carried out according to the rules of the Sankt Johannes Ambulance Association.).
General teaching methods applicable to all subjects and all phases of teaching, with illustrations from school practice. ii) Special methods of teaching physical education. The amount of teaching practice is determined according to the experience and previous skills of the student. The minimum amount will be 75 percent of the number of hours as described in the schedule.
Arrangements will be made for students to do some of their practice in selected schools under the following conditions: (i) Each student must be placed under an experienced teacher; (ii) terminal reports on the progress of each student must be sent by the Principal to the Director of Physical Education;. iii) each student must be under the supervision of the Director of Physical Education. Partial exemption from teaching practice may be granted to teachers who have had approved experience and who are in the regular practice of their profession as teachers of physical education. Teachers to whom such exemption is granted must be under the supervision of the Director of Physical Education and must satisfactorily perform such tests as the Director may require.

Men: Gymnastics with and without equipment, rhythmic activities, boxing, wrestling, fencing, athletics, games, swimming, camping, skiing, judo. A more advanced treatment of the work began in Teaching Practice and Observation Part I, focusing on teaching practice in secondary schools. The minimum amount of exercise is 75 percent of the number of hours prescribed in the schedule.
Arrangements similar to those for Part I will be. made so that students can get the necessary practice. Students can be excused from this test if their teaching has been assessed as satisfactory by the Director.
