The u p p e r T r i a s s i c a n d J u r a s s i c ( ~ a r a k o p a n t o H e t e r i a n ) r o c k s of t h e Marokopa a r e a , which form p a r t o f t h e w e s t e r n l i m b o f t h e Kawhia S y n c l i n e , a r e mhpped l i t h o l o ~ i c a l l y i n terms o f u n i t s b a s e d on t y p e s e c t i o n s a t K i r i t e b e r e a n d Kamhia. T h e K i r i t e h e r e (200 m t h i c k ) a n d N g u t u n u i (1550 m) f o r m a t i o n s o f t h e A r a w i Group;
t h e Arawhero Group, which c o u l d n o t be s u b d i v i d e d (1160 m); t h e U r u r o a S h e l l b e d ( 2 m) a n d U r u r o a F o r m a t i o n (280 m ) o f t h e U r u r o a Group; t h e Rengarenga Group, which c o u l d n o t b e s u b d i v i d e d
