About the Organisation
Masters Swimming SA is an Incorporated Association and is the body for competitive swimming in SA for adults 18 years and over. The association currently has 14 Affiliate Member Clubs with a membership of over 600 swimmers. Our mission is t
o provide an environment at Club and State level that encourages adults to swim and participate in order to promote fitness, friendship and fun.

The Position
An opportunity exists for an Open Water Swim (OWS) Coordinator to join the organisation and manage OWS events. The position will develop and lead delivery of all OWS competitions
conducted by the Organisation and its clubs aligning with our mission help drive the OWS Series into a new season. We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to join our team to support our growth with one of the largest Masters OWS Series in Australia.
This role will report to the Board and is responsible in overseeing the Program and host clubs.
This is a volunteer role only.
Role of the Open Water Swim Coordinator:
• Chair of the OWS Committee.
• Development of the annual open water series by liaising with the host clubs.
• Submission of the proposed series to the Board for approval.
• Organise, conduct and administer the running of the OWS Series and championships including the Nine News Australia Day Jetty to Jetty.
• Produce OWS Calendar and Brochures with assistance from the Administrator.
• Maintain Branch OWS Equipment.
• Ensure all rules and policies are implemented at all OWS.
• Oversee Awards and Trophies related to OWS with assistance from the Administrator.
• Conduct an annual review with the OWS Committee.
• Submit a written report prior to the Board Meetings and Annual General Meeting.
• Collect and collate data from the OWS Series.
• Liaise with OWS re sponsorship for the Series.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
• Experience with OWS environments
• General knowledge and understanding of the swimming environment.
• Demonstrate experience in leading, planning and implementing new initiatives into traditional markets.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, with outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills and a demonstrated high level of attention to detail.
• High-level communication skills with a proven ability to build, maintain, manage, and influence supportive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders over a range of projects.
