The college has a theological school, established in 1877, largely as a result of the efforts of the Right Reverend James Moorhouse, second Bishop of Melboume. The College Library (t e Leeper Library) provides a useful collection of works in the most important areas of undergraduate study. The only additional recurring charge for all residents is for membership of College Clubs.

Every applicant for membership of the College, whether as a resident or a non-resident student, must complete an application form, obtainable from the College Office. Non-resident students are also accepted, and are encouraged to become active members of the College. John's College, Cambridge, was appointed Master of the College—which was formally opened by His Excellency the Governor on 18 March 1881.

Ormond "made the splendid and generous offer to bear the whole cost of building the College". From the beginning the policy was adopted of placing no conditions beyond those of good character and sufficient learning upon membership of the College. The fee for non-resident students is $85 per year, together with the enrollment fee of $7.00 upon first enrollment as a member of the College.

T he above fees cover the tuition fees for residence during the period of the three tuition terms (see below.

QUEEN'S COLLEGE

Such students are not normally admitted except for the entire year and for all their subjects in which there are CoUege tutorials. The fee for non-resident students is $70 per year, along with the $10 registration fee upon initial enrollment as a member of the College. Some of these are awarded on the basis of the scholarship examination held in November each year.

Resident or non-resident College students enrolled at AU are automatically considered candidates, along with any non-College students who wish to have their University results considered for a scholarship or exhibition. The Smart Scholarship ($500 per annum) and the Howard Hitchcock Scholarship ($300 per annum) for Geelong College students, are available from time to time. Scholarships and exhibitions are awarded for one year only, but a student may be re-elected year after year throughout his course at the University for a scholarship of the same or different value.

Rooms are assigned to resident students in order of age and must be approved by the Master in each case. Annual fee (any year of any course) $756 The Faculty Council reserves the right to review the matter at the end of each. The above fees cover all college expenses for accommodation, tuition, meals, etc., with the exception of electricity for heating, which is charged according to the amount used.

However, a person whose official work or annual examinations are terminated before the end of the last term is required to step down within two days of such termination. A vacation fee of $3.25 per day will be made for the period of stay outside of that covered by College terms. Where, as in the clinical years of the Medical course, the period of hospital stay may include an absence during the College period, an allowance of $10.00 per week shall be made for such period.

Term notice is required of a student's intention to leave the CoUege during the year, unless special circumstances exist. The college has a certain amount available to award scholarships to students who could not enter or remain in residence without financial assistance. For further information about residence and tuition, or about scholarships and exhibitions, apply to the Master, Queen's College, Parkville, Victoria 3052.

Students of this College enjoy the benefit of accommodation, instruction in the doctrines and disciplines of the Catholic Church, and instruction supplementary to University lectures. No student can remain a member of the College unless he attends the statutory lectures and submits to the discipline of the College and the University.
