General - Dance `18 is 40th anniversary on QUT Dance
- 3 works in ACT 1 and 1 work in ACT 2
- HODs to submit equipment requests to ELC ASAP
- Opening night will be filmed by QUT EMPS who will use 3 or 4 cameras (two from the back, one flown) they will also attend a dress rehearsal.
- TP Students reminded not to CC’ Tony Brumpton in general correspondence, only final documentation - All production requirements excluding costume have a budget of $1500
1st year piece - Tres Dioses - 10 mins approx.
- 17 dancers
- Lots of people entering and exiting in groups
- Ms. Mafe-Keane mentioned possible ribbon props/similar waving hand props
- Possible use of cyc, needs to be discussed further as there will be no crossover if there is a cyc.
2nd year piece - Cardinal - 15 minutes approx.
- 5 dancers
- Based around pollution and oceans animals being caught in nets
- Nets have been constructed, Ms Clark and Ms Marinelli-Clarke to investigate whether these are able to be show props or just rehearsal versions
- 8 balloons needed for piece- colours to be confirmed 3rd year piece- A Line of Time
- 15 minutes approx.

- Mr. Buday to give Mr. Edmiston information about the tracks being composed for the piece, also required is something written from the composer that gives QUT permission to use the track/s.
2nd & 3rd year piece- Twelve Ascensions - 35 minutes approx.
- An extension of a piece done previously at QUT
- Dancers throw a power into the air during the piece, previously this was made of rice flour and McKenzie’s ground rice. Mr Edmiston to supply ratios of ingredients to Ms Clark
- White body paint also will be used. OP and PS need a painting area set up with builder’s plastic on the ground and sponges to apply body paint onto costumes and possibly through hair. Approx. 4L of Global white body paint required.
- Additional brooms and mop heads will need to be purchased to clean rice flour and ground rice off the tarkett.
- Mr Riley only available in week 10 (2/10 - 6/10 intensive) to choreograph addition 5-10 minutes ontop of previous work, Mr Riley will not be available for plotting

- There is no ASM on this production props will be dealt with by other SMs and Head of Set.
Lighting
Tres Dioses
- Mr Hughes attended rehearsals yesterday.
- Mr Hughes has written to Mr Coronado Veranes regarding to using cyclorama in this piece for colour.
Cardinal
- Possible use of gobos in booms, this will need to happen during changeover- still.
A Line in Time
- Mr Hughes and Mr Blanch discussed using pendant lights rigged off 3 bars to be flown in and out throughout the piece
- 24 dimmers required for pendant fixtures, so they can be used individually
- Mr Edmiston may be able to borrow 15 pendant fixtures from Opera Queensland- Mr Edmiston to continuing investigating
- Mr Hughes flagged that this piece will need an extended plotting session due to the individual pendant lights and the fly cues, he also flagged multiple flymen will be required for the piece.
Twelve Ascension
- Mr Hughes has previous lighting design and cue synopsis
Sound- Mr Edmiston has put through APRA request of all music in the production so far. Mr Buday to send through missing track information for A Line of Time and Twelve Ascensions

- Masks are not being used in Tres Dioses.
- Balloons have been purchased for Cardinal.
- Flour, Drop Sheets and make up sponges have been purchased for Twelve Ascensions, plastic tubs with lids still being sourced
Lighting - LX Plan is complete
- Booms have been moved DS so there will be 2 on the apron. 2 x 3m and 2 x 4m Flats will be required to mask booms - Mr Blanch requested all pendants to be at the same height along the bar, so when they’re flown the three bars will
be at different heights but the lamps in individual bars will be in line.
- Gel orders have arrived at gardens theatre.
- R119 will be used in top 19 degree on each boom
- Colours in notes are possible colour changes during performance pending costumes. Mr Hughes to advise Ms Hilliar.
- There will be no haze until the 22/10/18 once it is transferred back from The Loft.
- DS boom to be powered with looms run from slots or pit Ms Hilliar to discuss with Mr Earle.
Sound / Vision
- In house playback system will be used, Ms McGavin to confirm audio interface and projector - Mr Buday to advise Ms McGavin on the font for ‘40’ projected on the house curtain.
- Ms Clark to upload A Line of Time audio to Dance ’18 Google Drive.
- Ms Purdy to upload Tres Dioses audio to Dance ’18 Google Drive.

Set/Flys
- Mr Edmiston advised there are plenty of rope and pulleys in stock at Gardens Theatre for flutter drop and net pick up - Mr Hughes to supply fishing weights to be attached to the nets
- Ms Marinelli-Clarke to organise a time with Mr Edmiston to do a fire test on the net material before Monday 15th October
- Lightweight rubbish to be put in flutter drop (plastic bags cut up, napkins etc.) - Flutter drop will be concentrated fast drop unlike a gradual snow drop
- OP net will be on pulley attached to grid US of Line 19 instead of a head baton.
- Ms Purdy to email Scott re: net sizes and if there is rubbish attached to both and aesthetic.
- Net once arted it is to be no deeper than 150mm to clear other fly lines.
- If additional paper and plastic is needed Recycled Garbage in West End charges $5 for a bag of plastic off cuts.
Costume
- Costume making deadline is 19/10/18, costumes will be transferred on this date.
- Mr Buday to check items on rack for transfer.
- Black shorts were received from Cotton On but white shorts are required. Shorts to be fitted today (Wednesday 10th) before returns are made.
- Mr Edmiston to organise return of incorrect shorts.
- Ms Boughen to check costume room for fabric for Twelve Ascensions shirts
- Main costumes for Tres Dioses have arrived. These will be fitted tomorrow 11/10/18 - Turbans for Tres Dioses have not been made yet.
