Supreme Court Acts Amendment Act of 1926, 17 Geo. 5 No. 28 An Act to Amend "The Supreme Court Acts, 1867 to 1899"

BE IT ENACTED by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
1. Short title and construction of Act. This Act shall be read and construed with and as an amendment of "The Supreme Court Acts, 1867 to 1899," and may be cited together with those Acts as "The Supreme Court Acts, 1867 to 1903," and separately as "The Supreme Court Acts Amendment Act of 1903."
2. Appointment of Senior Puisne Judge. The Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, may appoint one of the Judges of the Supreme Court (not being the Chief Justice) to be the Senior Puisne Judge of the Court. The Judge so appointed shall for all purposes whatsoever be deemed to be Senior Judge of the Court, next after the Chief Justice.

3. Number of Judges. The number of the Judges of the Court shall not be less than four arrd shall not exceed five, and it shall be lawful for the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, by commission in His Majesty's name, to appoint a duly qualified person to fill any vacancy in the number of such Judges, whether such vacancy has occurred before the passing- of this Act or may hereafter occur.
4. Amended "Supreme Court Act of 1889", and "Supreme Court Act of 1895".
