Welcome to this special screening of our graduating students’ Work
Each film you see tonight is a team effort. Driven by a passion to tell stories and to become masters of their craft, each member of the team has made a valuable contribution towards the final result you see on the screen. Enthusiasm, commitment and a respect for each other are just a few of the qualities that they have had to draw upon to bring these projects to life.
At QUT we value the unique and distinctive voice of each student and hope they will continue to bring a freshness of vision and approach to all their work in the future.
Please feel free to stay and talk with the students at the end of this screening.

furious five
Revenge is a dish best served through a straw...
This film originated from a news article about a group of old aged pensioners who kidnapped and tortured their financial advisor for losing $4.5 million in retirement funds to a Florida real estate deal. Based on the event, the film explores the characters’ deep desires to be feared and respected in the criminal world once again. Furious Five is a black comedy which pays homage to directors Guy Ritchie, Nick Love and QT.

eden
The earth is destroyed. As a last act of survival, the human race deploys a group of arks, code-named “Seeds”. “Seeds” jump from planet to planet searching for a suitable atmosphere, crashing into a planet’s surface and shooting out a network of wires and tubes from which all life grows. In the final stages of creation, two humans are released into this artificial sanctuary. But something is wrong. What happens when a perfect system proves otherwise? What happens when a human who is altered to never question his own existence, does precisely that?
