Time-lapse
You MUST Format the SD Card before each Recording
STARTING THE TIME-LAPSEStep One: Format SD Card
1. Turn on Go Pro by holding the button on the side down.
2. Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the menu.
3. Click on “Preferences” and scroll down to “FORMAT SD CARD”
4. Select this, and press “OK”
Step Two: Selecting Time-Lapse Mode
1. As default, once the Go Pro is turned on I have configured it to be ready to start Time Lapsing (photo) at 30 seconds.
2. Press the Mode (side button) button until the Time-Lapse screen appears.
3. Select “Time-Lapse Photo”, ensure settings are set to “30 Seconds” and
“12mp”
4. Press the mode button to escape once settings have been set.
Step Three: Plug in Go Pro to GPO
1. Plug the Go Pro charging cable (USB-A to USB Type C) into the Go Pro with the USB C termination going into the camera.
2. Plug the charger into a GPO located on the Bio Box desk near the projector.
Step Four: Positioning of Go Pro
1. Place the Go Pro in the position, closest to the silver lip on the edge of the bio box desk.
2. Ensure the power cable is still in place once the Go Pro has been positioned, make sure the Go Pro will not move during the time-lapse.
END OF TIME-LAPSE
1. Press the recording button (top button) on the Go Pro to stop its recording.
2. Power off the Go Pro, hold down the side button.
3. Take Go Pro out of its housing, import footage via the USB-C cable.
4. Import all footage onto LaCie HD (Ben Mills) in the Archive folder, and then into corresponding subfolders (bump in, focus, plot etc.)

Show Recording
Pre-show
1. See show plot for power up sequence.
2. For All three of the Blackmagic Hyperdeck minis ensure that all are set to record as H624 Medium.
3. Format the SD cards in both the Hyperdecks minis and in the Zoom H6 Recorder.
Beginners
1. Start recording on all three Blackmagic Hyperdeck minis by pressing the record button, each Hyperdeck will record on of the following OP Stage Camera, C Stage Fee Camera and PS Stage Camera.
2. Start recording on the Zoom H6 which will record the stage feed audio (left and right) and comms recording.
Post Show
1.
Stop recording on all devices. Hyperdecks, this is done by using the STOP button on each device. Zoom H6 Recorder, this is done by pressing the stop button.
Post Show
After FOH Clearance
1. Stop the Zoom H6 recording for the stage feed and comms recording. Bring SD Card down to the green room to import content into the LaCie HD (Ben Mills).
2. Stop all recording on cameras #1-3, on the Hyperdecks, this is done by using the STOP button on each device.
3. Import all footage onto the Archive HD into the appropriate folders, (Show, Camera, Comms Recording etc).
4. Once confirmed that all footage has been backed up to the Archive
HD format all the SD Cards.

Two Hour Call:
Power On:
- Vision:
o Turn on the vision control power board which is connected to a technical earth GPO. This power board has plugged in into it the Mac Pro, Monitor, Network Switch, Blackmagic Decklink Quad 2.
o Power on the Projector that is used in the show, which is the Panasonic PT- DZ21K. The mains power button should be already in the ON position, press the POWER ON button on the side of the projector for 3 seconds. Wait until the projector starts to power up and continue with the power up sequence.
o Power on the Mac Pro by pressing the silver power button on the front of its housing for 3 seconds until the mac start up sound can be heard.
o Turn on the monitor by pressing the touch sensor power icon on the front of the display.
o Once the projector has powered up, check that the signal that the projector is being inputted is 1080/60i. A pop-up window will appear on the left-hand side of the surface.
o Open Blackmagic Desktop Video Setup on the Mac Pro.
o Click through until Decklink Quad (8) appears on the screen. From this click into it to check its settings.

o Check that the Output Format is set to 1080i60.
o Check that the Connector is set to SDI 8.
o Once this is all correct. Save and QUIT Blackmagic Desktop Video Setup. Make sure this is completely quit before opening the QLAB Show file.
§ If the projector isn’t recognising the input, check the following:
• Make sure that the DIN21-SDI cable located at the back of the Mac Pro in the Decklink Quad 2 is connected properly and isn’t
damaged.
• Make sure the connection from DIN21 – SDI to the SDI cable to the projector is securely in place. As well as the SDI connection into the projector itself.
• Make sure the projector is set to INPUT SDI 1 this can be checked by going into MENU, scrolling down and selecting signal list, and checking that the input the projector is receiving is SDI 1, at 1080i60.
• If the projector is still not receiving any signal, quit Decklink and restart the computer and power down the projector. Once all has been powered down, wait at least 1 minute to give it some time, then power up the projector then the Mac Pro. This should resolve the issue.

o Open the file named “2018_QUTActing_MND_VisionShowFile_Bundle_V2
o Once this is opened, click on the setting icon and go into the VIDEO Tab.
o Click EDIT, on the Back Wall Surface which should be the only surface available.
o Open the surface setting and put up the grid. This is done by clicking the GRID button.

o Make sure that the projector is focused correctly to the edges of the wall and make sure that the focus is correct.
o Once the grid is up and the focus is correct, unclick the GRID button and return back to the main cue list.
o Check that QLAB has control of the shutter over the network. This is done by going on the Shutter Close Cue and Shutter Open Cue that is located in the Preshow Checks Cue List.
§ If this doesn’t work check that the ethernet cable that is in the projector hasn’t come lose or unplugged.
§ Double check that the Network switch is powered on and the ethernet cables connected are plugged in correctly.
§ Check the IP Address of the projector and make sure it is 192.168.10.160.
If this has changed, set it back to 192.168.10.160. To check this, on the projector, using the button on the side, click MENU, then use the arrow down button (with will be the top arrow because the projector has been positioned upside down due to restrictions on placement) until NETWORK is selected, click the ENTER button, scroll down until IP Address is
selected and click ENTER and use the arrows to change the IP address.
SOUND:
- Turn on all GPO’s that are on the desk of the bio box.
- Power on the Mac Mini by pressing the power button.
o Open the folder Show file, and open the file
“2018_QUTActing_MND_SoundShowFile_V3”
- Turn on the monitor by pressing the power on touch sensor on the front of the monitor.
- Power on the MOTU 16A audio interface, by switching on the power switch (located on the front right of the mac mini housing)
- The sound console that is being used of MND is the Soundcraft SI Expression 1. Power on the sound console by pressing the power button in and holding for 2 seconds. The console will take a while to power on but whilst this is happening, turn on the FOH and REAR speaker AMPS. This is done by pressing the power buttons locating in the venue patching rack at the bottom and turning the two amps labelled “REAR” and “FOH” ON.

SOUND & VISION DESIGNER / QLAB OPERATOR SHOW PLOT Version #2 - Power on all Stage Audio, which consists of the three Subs and the two atmos
speakers, they are located in the upstage wall traps in the wall both OP and PS.
- Power on the ULXD4D rack which is located below the base station for Comms.
- Turn on the base station (HME DX200) by pressing the power button.
- Turn on the Show Relay which is located above the base station, by pressing the power switch onto the ON position. Please note that the LED lights are broken and do not work but if the switch is in the ON position, the show relay is on.
- Wireless Microphones:
o The Wireless microphones that are used in the show are the ULXD SM58. There are two of these used, on the desk Chan 9 is the Primary and Chan 10 is the Secondary. On the physical microphone the primary has been labelled for ease of locating it for the actors.
o Before each show the batteries MUST be changed with new fresh AA batteries.
These batteries can be located in the Audio Cupboard.
o Each microphone requires two AA batteries.
- Sound Check:
o Play the Preshow Check group in the show file. Mute channels 1 through 11 at the desk and bring up each speaker and turn it on and check that sound is coming out, then move onto the next speaker.
o Once this is done, press the RECALL button located above the master fader and recall “MND18”.
- Hour Call:
o Mic Check with Cast:
§ Once Ms Grima, is ready with the cast after fight call get Ms Tucker, Ms Price and Mr Carseldine to get ready for a Mic Check. Make sure the Primary and Secondary microphones are switched on and are receiving signal at the desk.
§ Turn on Chan. 9 on the desk and bring up the fader to -10db.
§ Get cast to say a couple of their lines when they use the microphone and make sure there is no feedback.
o Once Mic Check is complete, get Ms Grima to turn off both microphones and place them in there pre-set positions.
- Archival
o Turn on the Blackmagic Video Switcher at the front of its housing which is located underneath the projector.
o Put the SD card into SD 1 into each of the Hyperdeck Minis and Click MENU, then click SET, then use the wheel to scroll down to Format, click set, then select SD1, then SET, then OX Extended, then set, then confirm that you are wanting to format the SD card. Do this for all three SD cards.
o Power on the Cameras by opening the screens on the physical device in the seating bank.
o Make sure the ZOOM H6 Recorder (located on top of the switcher) has power.
o Plug in the SD card and format it.
- 10 Minutes to Beginners:
o Do the Archival Warning over comms.

During the Show:
- When instructed by SM go into SND Q 0.5 (Preshow).
- Shutter the projector when instructed by Head LX for Blackout check.
- Respond to standby’s with Sound when SM puts up standbys.
- When a MIC Q is called, press Chan. 9 ON and ride the fader up.
- Write down any notes of nothing that went wrong during the show.
Power Down:
- Once Front of House Clearance has been given, save the show file on both the Sound Mac Mini and the Vision Mac Pro
- Stop recording on the Hyperdecks and the Zoom.
o Take out all SD cards and start downloading content off them onto Archive Lacie Hardrive.
- Power down the projector by pressing the Standby button and then selecting the OK button.
- Power down the Mac Pro.
- Power off all stage audio speakers and the FOH & REAR Amps.
- Power down the audio sound console by press and holding the power button and pressing it again. This will power down the console.
- Turn off the wireless microphones and the ULXD40 Receiver.
- Turn off the Comms base station.
- Power off the vision power board.
- All systems will have been powered down.
