Student Connect magazine and student learning account login competition

Purpose

To advise schools about:

 the distribution of QSA’s Student Connect magazine to Year 12 students

 a competition to encourage Year 12 students to log into their learning account.

Background

Student Connect magazine highlights key aspects of Year 12 students’ final year of study including the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), Queensland Core Skills (QCS) Test, Overall Positions (OPs) and Field Positions (FPs). It also contains key dates for 2014, useful information on career planning and scholarships, and profiles of past students who share their tips for success in Year 12 and beyond.

Information

The May 2014 issue of Student Connect magazine will start arriving in schools from 5 May.

As part of this issue, the QSA is encouraging Year 12 students to log into their learning account on the Student Connect website www.studentconnect.qsa.qld.edu.au between 1 May and 31 August 2014 to familiarise themselves with the learning account login process and to check their personal and enrolment details. As an incentive, any Year 12 student who logs into their learning account at least once between 1 May and 31 August 2014 will be entered into a draw to win one of three iPad Airs.

What you need to do

 Distribute a copy of Student Connect magazine to each Year 12 student in your school.

 Issue or reissue LUIs to students in Year 12.

 Encourage Year 12 students to log into their learning account.
