ISSUE 08 April- June, 2023
I am delighted to share the eighth issue of CPJ Blue Sky, which highlights some of the important work CPJ has done during the last three months of 2023.
As we look back on April, May, and June, it is with a heavy heart that we mourn the untimely loss of one of CPJ’s beloved colleagues Riedwan Habibur Rahman. His memory will forever be cherished, and his contributions to the cause of peace and justice will always inspire us. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. To honour Riedwan’s contributions to the CPJ, we have launched the Riedwan Aritro Internship program.
I am pleased to announce that CPJ and two prestigious organizations, UNITAR (United Nations Institute for Training and Research) and the U.S. Forest Service International Program, signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs). Through these collaborations, we shall reach a wider audience, conduct effective training programs, and contribute to achieving sustainable development objectives. We are enthusiastic about the possibilities and results these relationships will bring about in the future. I am also excited to share the news of a new research collaboration with the esteemed University of Massachusetts Amherst in a project to provide direct services and a voice to the Rohingya refugee community.
Let us remember Sir Fazle Hasan Abed KCMG on his 87th Birthday.
Given his lifelong dedication to education, social justice, and empowerment of marginalised communities worldwide, he will continue to inspire us.
I express my sincere gratitude to all the readers of CPJ Blue Sky for your unwavering support, dedication, and commitment to our shared vision. Let us continue to build a world that strives for peace and justice and fosters mutual respect and respect.
Kind regards,
Manzoor Hasan OBE
