Clothes washing is a technology used to change the appearance, fashion and comfort of clothes. Garment washing is an aesthetic treatment applied to denim fabric to improve its appearance and strength. A process flow chart can be used for washing clothes, which is described in detail in this article.

If you want to create the impression or visibility of pocketing the fabric of any inner material, the visibility on the front of the jeans with the help of sandpaper is called hand scraping. Sandpaper comes in different numbers, usually starting from 40 to 600 and up, the higher the number, the finer the sandpaper, the less rough the paper. Pinning is a process performed by a rapid label machine using plastic or nylon label pins in the rigid form of the garment to achieve a very strong contrast (rigid and washed) on the waist, hems, back and front pockets, etc.

Destroyed Denim One of the most popular disruptive effects at the moment, 'Destruction' is an art that makes denim look unique and used. Potassium permanganate is sprayed in specific areas of the garment to fade the color and give the hand-scraped area a dazzling appearance. The color of liquid potassium permanganate is pink, but when applied to clothing, it dries to a muddy brown or gray shade.

To increase the potency of the acid, it is sometimes combined with acetic or phosphoric acid.

CHAPTER-13 Compliance

Compliance

Compliance is defined as implementing measures or developing procedures or policies in accordance with the standards or expectations of an external body, such as the International Labor Organization (ILO), a human rights organization or international procurement regulations, among others. It is critical that management takes the lead in taking compliance actions to drive compliance. The workforce, which includes seamstresses, assistants, tailors, pattern makers and finishers, is vital in the garment industry.

Bangladesh has a large and cheap labor supply that can be easily trained and converted into semi-skilled and skilled workers. Due to the lack of expertise and knowledge of garment makers involved in the trade, the quality of items exported from Bangladesh has long been questioned by foreign buyers. To export ready-made clothing, not only are quality parameters important for the acceptance of the product as its intended end use, but also the working environment in which the clothing is to be produced is equally important to ensure that the sweatshop concept is completely avoided and the code of conduct is extended to achieve the objectives of social compliance issues.

The key elements of social responsibility are based on international human rights principles as well as local culture and tradition. The system's main goal is to defend human rights in the clothing industry.

Social Accountability

  • Child Labor
  • Forced Labor
  • Health and Safety
  • Non-discrimination
  • Wages and Benefits
  • Health & Hygiene
  • Doctors Room/Medical Centre/Day Care Centre
  • Safety Facilities/Fire Fighting

The following are some of the most common findings in various elements of social responsibility. As indicated on Plates 1 to 6, some of the non-compliance issues have also been photographed. This aims to gain a better understanding of the current state of social compliance in various RMG companies in Bangladesh.

Violation: There are not enough restrooms on the factory floor to accommodate all the workers. Corrective Action: The factory shall establish adequate number of toilets in accordance with Chapters 3 and 4 of the Factories Act, 1965. There was no soap or towels in all the manufactured toilets, which was a violation.

Fire extinguishers were found obstructed and not easily accessible at various locations in the plant, which was a violation. Rolls of fabric, boxes, clothes and other items were found blocking main/secondary corridors in various parts of the plant. We give high priority to the payment of wages and overtime to employees by the 7th of the following month to meet their basic needs.

In addition, we are adjusting the 'Fire Door' for both exits to current standard requirements.
