A superhero short based on visual effects is really hard to make with a small team. We chose the short film route seeing the huge success of Marvel and DC films.
A short film based on superpowers and visual effects is pretty common these days, but very hard to get right. To make a short film memorable, we need to have a name that fits short film perfectly.
1.1 INTRODUCTION
Problem Statement and Solution
With the huge success of Marvels superhero movies, the audience is getting involved with VFX based movies and commercials. We have a lot of individuals who are really good at it, but they don't get a chance to shine because there aren't many projects that involve VFX. There were some movies based on VFX but the executions were not great as they had no experience in this field.
Because they were new to this and didn't know much, they couldn't combine the computer-generated visual effects with the camera-captured images. As a student in the Multimedia and Creative Technology department, we learned about film techniques and visual effects. We learned from the professionals how to create cinematography for a VFX scene as they will apply the VFX in the post-production stage and we have to shoot the clips accordingly.
After shooting all the shots according to the plan, we have to mix the computer generated visual effects with the clips and color match them accordingly. This will help the visual effect blend in with the normal clip and make the scene look natural.

From the first semester to the end of our university life, this software was used in various situations. Although its main purpose is digital drawing and photo editing or retouching, we used this software a lot in our project. This software is primarily a build software, but with a lot of community support and a large number of plugins developed for this software, it has become one of the giants.
From adding volumetric lighting to dust particles, everything to make the scene look realistic was created by this software and its plugins. After getting all the footage, we used this software to crop our footage as needed. We also did all the footage we used this software to roughly cut our footage as needed.
With this software, we also performed color correction by editing hue, saturation, light exposure, hue, etc. With this software, we also added our voice and required sound to the recordings. This software helps us render these edited footage in any format we want to use in any scenario.
But the base version of the software doesn't have all the things we needed.

Every film/short film starts with a script where all the camera angles, expressions, dialogues, framing, location etc. After completing the research and development of the concept, we had to finalize our total budget for the short film. Based on all the things in the list above, we determined the budget that we contributed by dividing ourselves into three, since we are a group of three.
We tried to save money on a few of the things that we could handle ourselves such as lights and gear, costumes, shooting spots, green screen, casting of cars, etc. Shooting in different locations helps to make the film dramatic, because if the whole film is shot in only one or two locations, the audience may get bored and lose interest in watching the entire film. Since our short film is based on superheroes and especially has VFX, props and costumes were important to make the cast more lucrative.
We had to choose the perfect costume for each cast that would represent their character according to the screenplay. For example, throughout the movie we will see that the Doctor wore something dark on the top or inside, but at the end of our movie we will see that the Doctor only wore a white dress and the superheroes wore a black dress. Setting up the lights, preparing the casts with dialogue and the right outfit, shooting the footage according to the script, checking the footage and re-shooting it are all part of the production.
Production Manager also plays an important role in making sure that everything required for the shoot is managed perfectly. Without a production manager, a director will experience great pressure and will not be able to complete the production in a short time.

In a normal conversation, the sound will be normal, but when someone shouts or screams, the sound level will be higher. Just adding footage and creating a script is not enough, because without proper sound, the film will not be complete. That's why we paid special attention to ensure that our sound is realistic and suitable for the scenes.
Not just the background music, the sound of the door opening should be exactly like the sound in real life. If it doesn't sound like people in the real world won't relate to it. Once we had all the voice and appropriate audio for each situation, we added all the audio according to the scenes using Adobe Premier Pro.
Since our short film is based on a superpower, visual effects are the most important part. Without proper visual impact, superpowers will not seem realistic and confusion will result. With the limited time we had, every second was spent on the best possible visual effects.
If the visual effects don't match the environment, it will look out of place and the scene will not be pleasant. That's why we created all the visual effects based on the strength and script of our characters. Following the right visual effects workflow is the key to a good VFX scene.
We used Adobe After Effect and many plugins from Adobe After Effect to do our visual effects.

After applying it, we showed them the end result and they were very happy with the final output. The overall feedback we got from different places is positive and we hope it will be even better after they watch our full film. We're really happy that people liked our vision and are happy with the outcome we put in.
